Our first visit, fourteen years ago, made a really lasting, positive impression upon us. Unfortunately I became ill while there, and was unable to eat the wonderful food I was presented with. Without going into details about my illness, I just couldn’t eat very much at all. The staff were so caring, concerned about my well being, but also concerned that there might something more they could do to make my stay more comfortable, I felt I was important to them. That was remarkable. The whole experience was first class, I was just so disappointed that I couldn’t enjoy the wonderful food which was on offer. It’s taken a while for us to return, but my husband’s birthday was a good excuse. This time, I was able to fully enjoy the same care and excellent service, stunning food, warm and friendly ambience, and relaxing few days. Thank you to all at the hotel Balmoral. I look forward to our next visit. Keep up the excellent work and attention to detail !

As always everything was excellent, lovely large clean room, helpful, friendly and professional staff, and of course the food was superb. We were very impressed by the entertainment which was far better than on our last visit! Could just do with a little help with luggage when you are on the top floor, I’m sure if we had asked it would have been forthcoming! Thankyou everyone.

On our bikes travelling around Devon, we spent two nights here and were very impressed by the friendliness of the staff. They were very accommodating of our electric bikes. The hotel was clean, the location central, and the food great. We needed the extra calories after 60km of riding each day. Well done guys.

Brilliant! Absolutely superb service, quality and value. This a very friendly hotel and the staff go the extra mile to ensure everything is OK. Rooms and common areas are beautifully and tastefully decorated and a high level of cleanliness is maintained throughout. Food is quite exceptional and the service in the dining room was first rate with the staff engaging with guests rather than simply placing meals in front of them. A particular mention and thanks to the young lady (sorry, we didn't get her name) who served us on Friday and Saturday. Her manner and attitude were very professional and friendly and she deserves great credit and thanks for this, particularly as so many young people get such a bad press. This was our second visit and we were accompanied by our very good friends who were equally impressed by this great hotel. We will be back as soon as we can. Our only gripe...our weekend stay passed too quickly!

What a beautiful hotel and such friendly staff! We went on a family weekend away age range from 20 to 80 this was the perfect location plenty close by and so beautiful to walk around. The food wow we’ve never eaten so much it was too nice to say no! By far the best Sunday Roast!! Well done you are one amazing chef!!! We would like to thank the amazing staff you are all so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back! Should be a 4/5 star much better than a 3 rating!

This was our fourth visit to Balmoral Hotel and it was as amazing as the first time we went in 2017. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the food is out of this world. It is a very friendly hotel and nothing is too much trouble. The information given on arrival is very helpful and there is always someone around if needed. The staff are all very friendly and professional. We WILL be back!

I read the reviews before choosing this hotel. All I can say is that they’re not wrong. My wife & I had a fantastic time there. We stayed for 4 nights & had a Premium Room with a garden view & limited sea view. Only limited by the trees. The food was excellent. We ate things that we wouldn’t normally choose. It was a pleasant change. Freshly cooked with a great choice. All the staff are very friendly & can’t do enough for you. My only “concern” was the walk up the hill from the harbour to the hotel. But we were well warned beforehand. We did it ‘once’.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the evening meals were excellent, plenty of choice and so tasty. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived and all our questions answered. The house is so comfortable, decor very attractive and plenty of comfortable chairs to relax in. Our only problem was the cold unseasonable weather which meant we couldn’t take advantage of the outside areas !

Thoroughly enjoyable stay although the weather was not great. The room was very clean and well maintained with a huge comfortable bed. We had opted for Dinner, bed and breakfast and the food was excellent throughout, with superb service and reasonably priced drinks in the bar.
