호텔 아코스타 베토니아(Hotel Acosta Vetonia)

All well. Our room was at front of hotel facing main road though so there was traffic noise.

Ok as a place to sleep when traveling through.

The hotel is a little old-fashioned but very clean. Breakfast and evening meal were served in the cafeteria. The bedroom was clean and well-presented, as was the bathroom. The bed was rather hard. The shower was good with plenty of hot water. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was plenty of free parking.

The hotel terrace looks onto the N630 so it’s a handy stop for truckers and tourists alike. If the maintenance was up to speed I’d have given a better rating but it’s not. The bedroom and bathroom are a decent size and there’s room for luggage. There were plenty of plug sockets too and several chairs. The bed was a shock as it only had a sheet and a bedcover, no duvet or blanket so not nice. The shower head had holes made by missing parts in the pipe which was unhygienic as well. The dinning room was only used at lunch and had a small set menu which was average. Supper is in the noisy bar which is ok but noisy. There’s a very small swimming pool which is too warm and changing rooms are a reminder of old school locker rooms, with little privacy. There is also a reasonably well equipped gym. I was on a walking holiday so this was convenient for one night. I enjoyed Almendrolejo town, which is a 20 minute walk from the hotel and a nice place to visit.

We stayed here for one night and I honestly say I'm glad it was just for one night, the room was basic no tea or coffee etc, when I booked it was for 2 people and 2 dogs when we checked in we where told there was a cost of 8 euros for each dog I think this should have been made clear at time of booking the staff we feel must be very unhappy at their work as they are rude and arrogant in all areas of this hotel the reception desk was the worst I have encountered with the staff in the cafe/restaurant where dreadful I would not stay here ever very unpleasant experience.

The dinner was not as expected.

********** had forgotten to book us in but reception finally booked us in. Mattress poor, pillows very flat, very little sleep, air conditioning spewing out black particles when turned on.Photo taken after filters cleaned. Maintenance man came to clean the filter but it didn’t resolve the problem so we couldn’t use it. Legionnaires disease. springs to mind. The outside temperature was 32 degrees. We paid 5 Eur each for breakfast with little choice. They offered toast, coffee and orange juice.

The staff were extremely helpful- all measures taken for safety etc
