Rainbow Point Motel

Also known as Rainbow point motel This property is used as emergency housing and then they must rent out rooms on here to people when they are empty. Broken blinds means you can open them to let light in. mold on the ceiling broken power points chipped paint and wholes in the wall broken clock missing light bulbs burn marks all over the bathroom sink old toothbrush in the drawer empty soap dispenser mismatches cheap furniture and bedding from the 80s the fridge sounded like it was about to take off It felt like a dirty outdated halfway house that the owners clearly don’t care about. They are probably making loads of money of housing NZ and clearly don’t care about private guests

The wall clock didn’t work There was no bulb in the bedside lamp Bulbs missing the the bathroom The power point in the bathroom didn’t work The blind on the window was held up crooked by string No heat pump just dusty old heater Fridge made noise all night, couldn’t turn it of as it was iced over and we would have had a flood Wall had paint missing Bed had uncovered revolting old duvet inner Shower only had fixed head and was very old and had peeling paint Hand basin was stained and when we turned the tap on the whole thing turned Rotten wood in the bathroom Didn’t bother to try the tv We arrived late and went to complain in the morning but the office didn’t open until 9.30

Where do I start with this accommodation. Possibly the worst place I have ever stayed!! On arrival just after 12noon i went to reception and the dirty glass door was locked. The ripped paper sign announced that the reception was open 9.30am - 7pm. We rang the bell and about 5 minutes later 2 children in their pajamas answered the door. We asked to speak to their Dad. They ran and got their Mum who didn't appear to know what she was doing. She rang a person who sounded as if he were male. she asked me to pay and I informed her that I had already paid. She spoke in Indian the whole time she was on the phone. It says on their ******* page that English is the spoken language. She gave me a key to the room and told me how to get there, She DID NOT give me a wifi password, parking instructions or any other information. On entering the room we found the furniture and furnishings to be all very dated . There were broken light bulbs, dirty stains on the wall, stained furniture, empty tissue box, no soap dish, mouldy ceiling, a very noisy heater, and not sure in the kitchen as I refused to use it. The only good thing for me were the clean sheets on our beds and the fluffy towels. Clearly not laundered in-house. The outside grounds were overgrown, the trampoline was ripped and broken, and the outdoor furniture in disrepair. I would not recommend that you stay here EVER!!

A little boy was at the reception when we arrived. He managed to find our room key by phoning an appropriate adult (assuming his dad). But couldn't help us much. My husband went back to the reception to ask WiFi password. Again the same thing the boy phoned the adult (owner/manager/dad) and took about 15mins to find out the password. However the manager popped in our unit later on and apologized.
