호텔 미시아나(Misiana)

Had the pleasure of staying here for three nights and it is exactly the type of hotel we like to stay in. We are nervous travellers and the staff were always so cheerfully helpful to all our needs, the location to what we like to see was perfect and the view from our window was the best of our trip so far, an unexpected gem, sad to leave .

We just got back from a trip through the South of Spain. Our first stop was Tarifa and the Hotel Misiana. The hotel is in a very central location right in the center of the old city and easy walking distance to the port to grab the ferry to Tangier. It was also an easy walk to the beach to catch the amazing sunsets. After a smooth check in process, we were surprised with a nice bottle of Cava waiting in our room. We booked the penthouse suite that has it's own private terrace and I would recommend that to anyone. It has amazing views of the city, Mediterranean, Atlantic and over to Africa. For the price and the location alone, I would highly recommend this hotel. There are just a couple of things missing that make this only 4 stars: The restaurant is a lovely place for dinner/drinks at night, but it is not open for breakfast. You have to leave the hotel for breakfast options. Parking is not provided at the hotel. We had to make a reservation in a private parking garage a few blocks away and walk with our luggage. The room itself had some quirks like floors that creaked when you walked and a bathroom door that wouldn't close all the way. That said, the private terrace more than made up for all of that.

Great location in the heart of the old town. Has a bit of a shabby chic feel to it. Really nice bar area on the front. Rooms a good size and decent air conditioning. Kettle provided in the room, although no fridge. You can’t get anywhere near the hotel with a car as it’s pedestrianised, we parked in a secure car park about 10 mins walk away which was easy, it was 18 euros a day though so not cheap. The rooms don’t have balconies although we had large windows that opened onto a great view of the old town and down to the sea. We didn’t eat at the hotel although it did look good. We ate instead at Un Lugar and Cafe 10 and would recommend both. Would definitely stay on this hotel again.

Located right in the centre of old town. We were a late arrival so received a call telling us the hotel will be unmanned and key would be in the restaurant. No problems at all and check in OK. Room looked like it had been completely renovated and to a good standard. The only mis was the TV - outdated! Great stay and good value. Recommended.

This was a cute little boutique hotel in the middle of Tarifa. Despite the partying just streets away, the hotel was calm and quiet. Maria at reception was kind, thoughtful, and so helpful--she even recommended a dinner spot that turned out to be delicious! Would highly recommend if you're catching the ferry to Tangier--it's just a few minutes walking distance from the port, and such a comfortable place to stay.

The worst experience in a hotel that brands itself "Boutique" Terrible grubby dark unrenovated room. Frosted window looking into alley that didn't give access for escape if there was a fire. Leaking shower into room. Blown woodwork and plaster. Old fittings. Uncompromising reception staff when complaining about standard of room. Cheap bed linen. Lumpy bed, flat pillows, cheap nasty fittings. No storage for clothes. Miniscule TV monitor. Noisy bar below. Much better alternative at a lower price in rest of town. Would not recommend.

Hotel Misiana was safe, clean & comfortable with a good vibe. We were there for only one night as we readied for the morning ferry to Morocco. Our unit was at the front and were able to people watch from the room. I don't normally write about lighting, but this place had so many options that were well designed for both mood and practicality. The twin beds were comfortable & separated, which is perfect for friends traveling together/sharing a room. Most remarkable was the staff. Their recommendations for food were brilliant and their assistance in retrieving a bag left at a restaurant the night before was truly beyond the call of duty. Forever Grateful.

Fuimos a la cafetería a tomarnos algo, entramos al interior porque fuera estaba todo ocupado. Nos sentamos en interior y no venía nadie a atendernos, el camarero pasaba por nuestro lado y nos ignoraba. Por fin, se dió cuenta la chica que estaba en la barra y se lo dijo a su compañera. Después fui a mirar si había un sitio libre en exterior y había dos mesas. Le pregunté a la camarera si nos podíamos sentar en una mesa alta aunque había un letrero reservado y claro no pudimos y nos sentaron en una mesa cuadrada baja en todo el paso. Lo más gracioso, es que vienen 4 chicas y les pregunta dónde se pueden sentar y la camarera les pregunta que si es para cenar y una de ellas le dice que es para tomar algo quita el letrero de reservado que estaba encima de la mesa y las sienta ahí. Encima a ellas les pone aceitunas y a nosotros no.
