We have been visiting Schlosshotel Chastè for over 20 years - the top-level quality, warm & spotless house is perfectly maintained and even improved. Gianni Pazeller, the family member who now manages the hotel, is a first-class host with constant attention to detail. His 'compère', Chef Andy Heidenreich is at the pinnacle of his art. Besides the two deluxe fixed menus and the à la carte, Andy produces an original choice gourmet menu...EVERY DAY (!) for hotel residents. Where else can you enjoy a creative 1-Michelin star-level menu as a half-board arrangement ? (is the red guide asleep at the wheel not yet awarding Andy the star he deserves?) Gianni's parents Daniela and Rudolf, artisans of the house as we know it today, make a point of stopping by each and every guest at dinner. Schlosshotel Chastè is, in essence, a superior 4-star, gourmet property with a 'pension de famille' atmosphere. In lower Engadine, there are plenty of places to visit using the complimentary public transport by rail and postal buses that takes you effortlessly to spectacular views and untouched nature surroundings. If one returns again and again to the same place, there's a good reason!
