Taodomus Boutique Hotel

This small boutique hotel gets everything right. Certainly our room, one of nine, nestled over four floors in a building in the heart of Taormina’s historic centre was modern, clean and comfortable. The hotel staff without exception were friendly and helpful; the hotel’s location on the pedestrianised focal point of the town, but near to taxi access was ideal and the roof-top terrace was comfortable with great sea and Etna views. The star performer though, was the breakfast - vegetarian - though so excellently varied in variety and tastes that I barely noticed. This is not a ‘grande dame’ establishment, but if you want a friendly comfortable bolt hole with a great meal to set you up for the day, this is the place.

Would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Taormina. Lovely welcoming staff and instructions for drivers and parking and pre visit help was very useful. The hotel is just at the start of the Main Street but very quiet once in. The rooms are beautiful and although on the smaller side the design works very well and we were able to store large bags away without issue. We had top room with view out to the water which was lovely to wake up to and end the day. The bar on the very top level is also fantastic and is where have breakfast. Very modern and staff friendly and helpful for the whole stay.

My husband and I spent three nights at Hotel Taodomus in Taormina while we were exploring southern Sicily. Its location is perfect: just inside Porta Catania at the southern end of Taormina’s main (pedestrianised) street Corso Umberto i - so quiet but just metres away from taxis, buses etc The hotel is a beautifully renovated old building, ultra modern with a lift to a wonderful roof terrace and breakfast room with fine views over Taormina, the Ionian Sea and Mount Etna. Our room was spacious and very comfortable to live in. Breakfasts were fantastic. I had the finest omelette I have ever had in my life there: potato, fennel and courgette flower omelette with fresh ricotta. In the evenings cocktails are served on the roof terrace. They were so good and the evening views so lovely we went up there every night before we went out for dinner. All of the staff were amazing, very professional, attentive and charming and the hotel reception provided a really excellent concierge service personally tailored to our tastes and needs. They advised on itineraries, booked our restaurant choices and arranged our taxis etc All in all a wonderful place to stay…………

Hotel Taodomus was wonderful! My husband and I spent time there for our 30th anniversary trip to Sicily. Our room was very comfortable! We loved the location right on the main road with a balcony overlooking the hustle and bustle. (The windows to the balcony closed tightly and blocked out all the noise from the street. ) The bed was comfortable and the shower was amazing! We absolutely loved the outdoor roof space and thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast there to start our day and wine to finish our day. The view is beautiful and calming. Maria greeted us and was incredibly friendly and informative. She also arranged an early delivery of breakfast one morning because we had to leave extra early for an excursion to Mt. Etna. The bartender at the rooftop bar was knowledgeable of Sicilian wines and ver proud of his heritage. We surely will be back and will recommend to friends.

Wonderful location in the middle of Taromina, very knowledgeable staff, luxury accommodations, delicious breakfast and the scenic rooftop for breakfast and drinks is fabulous. Highly recommend this property for your stay in Taromina.

We are quite ambivalent about Taodomus. We booked because of the great reviews, but found a lot of pros and cons. Pros ——— Fantastic roof top terrace and bar, with amazing views of Etna. Great barman on rooftop, Manuel, who also helps with breakfast. Great breakfast on rooftop terrace. Rooms immaculately clean. Great cleaning staff, Cons ———- Our room was tiny, so much so that we could not unpack because of tiny wardrobe and no drawers. Our room faced the main boulevard, with tens of thousands of tourists going past. One could not open a window because of the noise. We had a couple of problems with reception staff. Maybe just too late in the season for them to care. A fouled up dinner reservation and a robotic woman who did not understand air conditioning. Anyone with mobility issues will struggle with the stairs and the miniature lift. Summary ——————- In fairness, we think we understand what they want to be, but they are only part way there. Maybe perfect for fit, small people who want to be in the centre of the action for a couple of nights. Not so great for larger people, who need space and find crowds oppressive,
