메트로폴 메종 도테(Hotel Metropole Taormina)

Struttura emozionante , adiacente alla piazza principale di Taormina , in posizione privilegiatissima con un affaccio sul mare stupendo! Grazie a tutto lo staff per l'indimenticabile esperienza. Solo per citare alcuni e senza dimenticare gli altri: Luca manager del ristorante , Santino alla Reception , Giuseppe in servizio alla piscina e la signora delle colazioni hanno contribuito a rendere eccellente il nostro soggiorno. Complimenti a tutti!!!

We are a USA Austin Texas couple making our second trip to Taormina, Sicily. We choose Hotel Metropole to stay for two weeks. We shopped, lounged at the beach, splashed in the luxurious Metropole infinity pool, went to Mt. Etna, toured wineries and vineyards, visited mountaintop villages, toured the majestic Greek theater, sipped cocktails looking out over the ocean, and got to meet so many incredible people. Most importantly, what made this experience authentic was the wonderful staff. They were so patient in answering all our logistical questions. We are so appreciative of all that they did for us, and they were fun people. Thank you to .... Ambra - awesome!!! Alessandro - so knowledgable and patient Maria - she is the best, so nice. and funny. Giuseppe - master of Sicilian pizza and cocktails Giuseppina - The best GM ever. So nice to us. A wonderful sparkling lady! Hopefully, the hotel will want us back in 2024. :) Thank you Hotel Metropole.

Amazing hotel with beautiful view. Staff was super nice and helpful during our stay. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to others.

We have stayed in many hotels around the world, but from the moment you enter the Metropole Hotel in Taormina, you realize you are going to undergo a unique experience. It is almost like visiting a large family in their magnificent estate overlooking the ocean on one side, and in the center of “movie set” Taormina on the other. This family warmly caters to your every need, and within their estate you have every possible facility you could desire. The rooms (several types, sea view and city view, but get sea view if you can) are spacious and comfortable. Marcello (the manager) assisted so ably and warmly by Santino, cannot do enough to guide you and help you enjoy their beautiful city. David, Maria and the other bar/restaurant staff are there when you want them, but leave you to enjoy the incredible view from the bar and restaurant in comfort. There is an infinity pool that is wonderfully refreshing, and has both open and shaded loungers to enjoy a restful break. The food in either the bar or restaurant is first class - best Niçoise salad I’ve ever had! When you visit Sicily, if your only splurge on one hotel, make it the Metropole in Taormina - it’s worth it!

The location cannot be more perfect, service is excellent, and the views from the lobby, restaurant and breakfast area are breathtaking! I would definitely return!

The Hotel Metropole was terrific. Lovely rooms. Lovely staff. VERY central location. The trick is, however, that if you drive to Taormina things get... complicated. It is not a place for cars. If you stay at the Metropole, the entrance is on a walk street. So you MUST call them a few minutes before you arrive so they can greet you in the back on the edge of a cliff and then whisk your car away. It's kind of fun, actually, but it's not what people are used to.

Having had a lovely week in Ortigia, we have finished our Sicilian holiday with 4 nights at the Metropole Hotel in Taormina. In terms of location in Taormina, this hotel cannot be beaten. Midway along Corso Umberto. It is an absolute oasis of calm just 5 paces from the Madding Crowd. We opted for one of the 3 intimate rooms with a hot tub on the balcony - amazing at siesta time! Maria at breakfast deserves a special mention, her attitude alone sets you up for the day ahead. If I am going to mention Maria, I must mention Mary from the bar, she has made every evening special with her cheerful professionalism. In truth, this hotel has not disappointed on any front. We love it and will definitely be back. Thank you Metropole.

The hotel is in a brilliant position and the staff are wonderful but I think people should be aware the photos of the rooms presented on travel websites may be misleading. We thought we had booked a room that looked like the bigger one on the attached photo - but turns out it was the smallest in the hotel. (the room on the top of the pic below) There wasn't even room either side of the bed for a bedside table! It was so tiny!! My side of the bed (the right hand) didn't even have charging facilities for a cell phone. As well, there were absolutely NO drawers in the room for clothes. So if you DO book here, make sure you do NOT get room Number 25. The staff gave us another room which had a sea view for our second night because we complained but then we had to move AGAIN for our third night because THAT room wasn't available for 2 nights running. So we had to PACK and UNPACK 3 nights running which does NOT make for a relaxing holiday. To be fair, the staff were very sympathetic and we were offered a complimentary cocktail as an apology but it really spoilt our holiday have to move so many times. On a positive note, the pool is stunning and the breakfast was lovely.
