Gracious hotel with views and stunning terrace for dining and drinks. Well-trained staff responded quickly to every question and request. Breakfast was generous and delicious with plenty of fresh options. Rooms are simply appointed but comfortable and ours had beautiful balcony to enjoy the view and the ocean breeze. Walking to town might be challenging for some, but our 60 crew enjoyed the exercise. Hotel provides free parking and shuttle to downtown and Greek theater.

Clearly a special property but, in overall terms, the level of service does not match what I would expect from a 5* hotel and some money needs to be sent on room maintenance. Shuttle service is important given the hotel's location between the beach and the town and we were let down disappointingly by the shuttle after over 5 hours on the streets and in the heat of Taormina.

Overall this was a very good property. It’s definitely worth the extra money to book the room with a balcony over looking the water. The view is beautiful. Breakfast is very good including the fact that you eat on the terrace over looking the water. The hotel is clean and very quiet. You can walk anywhere from this location which was great. That being said, I didn’t give it a 5out of 5 because it is a bit tired. The wifi/internet is terrible. The signal continued to drop in and out. Every time we opened the patio door, the AC would turn off (fine from an eco friendly point of view) but once the door was closed and locked again, we had to jiggle the door for awhile to get it in just the right place to get the AC back on. Had maintenance look at it twice - no fix. Also had issues with consistent hot water in the shower. That being said, preferred to look at the views than the internet and if you have short showers, wasn’t a problem with the water.

It is a nice property with a good view of the sea. Air conditioning in the room was not the best, could not get the room to fully cool. One of the bottles of water in the refrigerator was already opened by a previous guest. Staff is very attentive. Only knock is the restaurant, very overpriced for the value received. As someone with 30+ associated with the service industry I’d rate the menu as pretentious. Breakfast on the other hand was perfect.

We very highly recommend the Batu and San Pietro, five stars all the way and without the tired forced pretentiousness so common now, from the moment we stepped out of our car thru every experience from breakfast to pool to coordinated excursions. Thank you so much to Luigi, Chef Luca, Fabio, Mikela, Nino, the very kind pool manager, and the entire GHSP dedicated staff for making our trip so memorable. The most beautiful hotel I have been in Sicily.The staff was beyond a pleasure to deal with. The hotel was beyond clean and the room was immaculate everyday. I can’t wait to return. The food was above and beyond delicious. I highly recommend anyone going to Sicily to choose this hotel. The pool area was beautiful . I can’t wait to go back . Better than 5 stars.

I am very pleased to have the opportunity to post a review about our recent stay at the Grand Hotel San Pietro Taormina. Amazing, best kept secret! From our arrival to departure, (my wife and I stayed for 5 nights), magnificent location, very comfortable spacious room with a balcony terrace overlooking the Ionian Sea, and high grade amenities. The breakfast spread was so good that it set us up for the day. The town centre is a 10 minute comfortable walk but the hotel also operates a shuttle service every hour for guests…you have to book it ahead..we used it a couple of times…great! They do have a couple of restaurants, we had lunch one day, again excellent food menu and service. Most of the time we were out on day trips and ate at local restaurants in the evening, again the hotel was very helpful with suggestions and their recommendations were great. We have stayed at Four Seasons and Belmond group in different destinations, incidentally Taormina has both of them but must say San Pietro excelled, no regrets. There is a Hindi phrase ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ which literally means’the Guest is God’ and is truly applicable to our experience at the San Pietro. Finally we must mention the staff who were brilliant particularly Virginia Proietti the Hotel Guest relations Manager and Stefania who looked after us at breakfast.
