What a unfortunate stay. I booked a suite for 2 nights but could only stay for one. It was non refundable, which was fine, the mistake was mine. I never asked for a refund of any type. Despite informing the hotel of my new arrival date (and paying for two nights), they were not prepared for my stay and said so. My room air conditioner didn’t work all night (which is a big deal in Sri Lanka). There was no available coffee until the kitchen opened at 7:30 (despite their website stating a coffee machine). No room service. I called about these issues but was told no one was available to help me. The worst is the GM blames others for the lack of care and response. Hiccups happen, I don’t mind, but a GM who displaced blame sours everything for travelers and staff alike. Nearly 1k spent for my 17 hour stay, which could have been a bargain if they were just kind and responsive.
