A bucolic oasis in Southern Vermont. What a treasure! Gorgeous and peaceful, we spent our afternoon on the lawns of Hill Farm picnicking, watching alpacas, and taking a moment to sit in peace surrounded by lush summer greenery. A rainy storm moved us to the gorgeous wrap-around porch where we sipped tea and pet kitties. At night we lounged in a beautiful and cozy sitting room playing board games with an evening coffee. In the morning we went on a trek down to their nature trial that runs adjacent to the Battenkill and provided us with a little workout. Hill Farm is beautiful. Shabby chic, with an emphasis on chic for sure, while staying true to the vibe of Southern Vermont. It's a great place to be in love. Take your honey here. We are already talking about going back.

Our 3 nights stay at Hill Farm Inn was very nice. The room was very comfortable, there is a sitting room with a fireplace to relax in as well as a bar area, game room and fitness area. Breakfast was delicious every morning. Also on the grounds is a terrific restaurant with a bar, both are highly recommended. The inn is also very close to Lye Brook Falls hiking trail. It is a bit of an uphill 2.5 mile in hike but well worth the view. Manchester is about a 10 minute drive from the inn.

Our experience at the Hill Farm Inn was nothing short of exceptional. The rustic property is gorgeous (we came in the winter — can only imagine the views in a Vermont fall!) and just a few minutes down the road from downtown Manchester. Our room was outstanding, the amenities were top-notch, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay that much more enjoyable. The breakfast was a highlight — Maria’s pancakes are world-class! If you’re searching for a place where you can relax, recharge, and spend a weekend away, look no further than the Hill Farm Inn. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

This is a beautiful place, excellent food and very kind staff. We rated this a 3 because we were not informed at check in that because we were only staying 2 nights our room would not be refreshed. If we had been informed upfront at check in or even when we booked we would have managed our expectations and not found ourselves surprised and disappointed. We choose to stay here for the lovely reputation and beautiful area. Since we paid a premium to stay here refreshing the room is certainly a reasonable expectation. How disappointing to have not been informed in advance and how disappointing that for what we spent monetarily we were not treated to the entire quality experience. We are disappointed.

Wow! What a gem! We loved our stay! The farm is very charming, there are alpagas you can feed apples to, there are two cute and friendly cats. The surroundings are beautiful, with views on the mountains. You feel very isolated and serene. The staff is very friendly! The breakfasts were delicious. The restaurant at hill farm was simply outstanding, with high quality food! We also took a walk on the river trail, which was really beautiful. The only con is that the mattress were a little too firm. Some guests were there for their seventh time and we have no trouble understanding why. We will definitely come back! We don't want to stay anywhere else in Vermont!

I really would love to give this place a 5 rating. In many aspects it was. However when we arrived in the evening it seemed like everything closed at 8pm according to the hostess who was a bit short with us. When we mentioned we were going for a quick swim the hostess was insistent everything closed at 8. It felt like we couldn’t do anything after 8pm so we just sat in our room with the TV on low. The A/C was also really loud and annoying. Thankfully we were able to open the windows. The great things about this place is the location and the staff in the morning were friendly and warm. Complete opposite of the night before. All in all I would stay there again and hope for different staff at check in.

We travel a lot, all over the world. We've never experienced a warmer, happier, gentler atmosphere than at Hill Farm. Every single staff member -- from reception to kitchen to gardeners -- was cheerful, helpful, and kind. The physical premises and surroundings are gorgeous, but the overall feeling of welcome and care here are almost impossible to describe. This is an extraordinary place.

This was probably one of the best stays I’ve had across all continents/vacations. The property is amazing, the service is world class.

It was unique to be in a facility with multiple things to do, e.g. swimming pool, the pool table, a dart board, the garden, the library, etc. Negatives - very small room, no phone, no Wi-Fi in the room, dysfunctional thermostat, poorly positioned A/C unit such that cold air hits one in the face while in bed, too much of the sounds and voices from adjoining rooms is intrusive.
