폭스 인(The Fox Inn)

Ali and her team could not have been more welcoming, helpful, and responsive to make memorable the 3 nights 15 of my walking group stayed at the Fox, and 18 of us ate there each evening. The Fox is brilliantly located in stunningly beautiful North Dorset countryside with glorious walks in all directions, and is less than an hour from the Dorset Jurassic Coast for more spectacular walks. The dinners and breakfasts were great, with packed lunches also available .

The burger came as a lump of processed brown substance- and while I questioned the cooking I could tell that this was a very cheap product … almost bound together like a glue … no visible signs of being a beef product - bought in as frozen ?? Overall staff were lovely but the food from heavy laden fish batter to the dried pork schnitzel all says don’t ever eat here. Admittedly the specials were off and sold out but compared to the Brace in Plush , the hunters moon in middlemarsh are excellent in comparison! Such a shame !

Fantastic, loved every minute of the 2 nights we stayed. Service is exceptional, food scrumptious, from breakfast to dinner. Beautiful setting, quiet, comfortable, room was relaxing and we slept wonderfully well. I would recommend to all.

The staff at the Fox were extremely friendly. The Room was a good size and bed comfortable however one of our rooms had very steep eaves which restricted movement without leaning over. The food was good standard pub food, as was the breakfast, without hitting any heights, hence 4 stars, but service was excellent.

Went for a meal with my family for mothers day, excellent meal , had the roast beef for mains and marmalade bread pudding for desert , despite being busy all my food came out piping hot . Great service and atmosphere. Will definitely go again . Beautiful place

The food was ok but I ordered a wine and asked for a dash of lemonade in it to which the waitress agreed, I said I don’t want a bottle just a dash. She said that was fine but she then brought over a large glass of lemonade and we were charged £4.50, terrible!

We stayed a night and had dinner and breakfast. Good welcome and friendly and enthusiastic staff team. Room was comfortable and the food tasty. BUT this venue was hosting the South Dorset Hunt AGM and also welcomed shooting parties. Sadly that means we would neither return or recommend to others.

We stayed for 2 nights whilst visiting the area to reminisce and meet friends some we had not seen for over 40yrs . The rooms have obviously recently been refurbished and were cosy and very clean . The manager was extremely nice and had a good sense of humour and made us most welcome. The bar area is a little small but obviously more of a dining pub. Food was good breakfast and dinner. We hope to return next year when we visit UK .

Lovely little find in the middle of nowhere. Good food, bar and open fire. Spot on.
