Anchor Wheel Motel

A quaint motel.. we stayed one night and it was more than adequate. Atilla, the owner was very welcoming and obliging.. the motel was hit with severe flooding in February that were not aware of beforehand so some of the services were not available (Restaurant, Laundry) however this did not impact our short stay. Our room was clean and comfortable.. The new Bathroom was first class!! We would recommend and would stay again.

While in beautiful St Helen's, l stayed at the Anchor Wheel Motel. The rooms are modern & spacious. Had a relaxing night's sleep in the comfy bed. Excellent facilities available too. The hosts Atti & Deb are so helpful & generous with their time. Very reasonably priced.

We stayed in room 2. Clean and tidy room in a quiet old-style motel. The motel also has a guest laundry and guest kitchen. Weirdly, the handbasin for the bathroom is in the kitchen, but it wasn't inconvenient for a one night stay. The queen sized bed was too soft and springy for us, but that's just personal preference.

We stayed here for a night in a big family apartment. We were arriving late and Attila made sure for us to give us some tips on where to get the dinner in the town and how to get in the motel. The apartment is newly renovated and looks really amazing. Too bad we couldn’t stay for more nights.

Such a friendly welcome provided by the owner with some amazing food and travel tips that weren’t on my itinerary. We loved St Columba falls, the Pub in the Paddock and the Cheese factory. Our room is very clean and well appointed. Good value for money and nice quiet location close to town.

We travelled to St Helens for an overnight stay and were very pleasantly surprised by the modern updated nature of the premises. The host was super obliging, with nothing a problem, and he was also readily available to assist. All 6 of us that stayed were very happy with the premises and the staff. We all loved our stay and will be returning to stash again - provided they are not booked out !!! Well done to the owner.

The motel looks old from the outside, however, recent renovations make the inside very clean and modern. The room is good size with a small kitchen area with the sink on the outside of the bathroom. A drawback is the room gets very bright at sunrise as the front blinds do little to darken the room. Also, there is no shade over the small window above the sink and the sun shines right through so when you go to use it, you are almost blinded by the sun. The motel is a short drive to town and the manager is very helpful and knowledgeable.

Welcoming host who gave us some good recommendations for the local area for meals and things to see and do. Clean, modern and spacious rooms. Beds were very comfortable, and bathroom had been recently renovated. Ideal location close to town. Highly recommend.

The unit was very clean and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay with the added bonus of communal cooking elements and free washing machine and dryer. Very pleasant and helpful hands-on owner.
