I Tre Bacili

This was our third stay at I Tre Bacili. We can not recommend I Tre Bacili enough! It is truly a special property. Once you arrive at the Mansion, you begin to understand that you are part of a true gem. From the extremely professional, kind and knowledgeable front desk, to the reusable water bottles and on demand filtered water (both sparkling and still), every detail has been carefully thought out. The rooms at I Tre Bacili are luxurious and spacious, with ample space for storage, an in room mini bar stocked with local wine, and thoughtful touches throughout the room. Breakfast at the mansion is memorable and varied. We thoroughly enjoyed the attention to detail, creative flavors and variety. From eggs to pastries and fresh squeezed orange juice, to a wide variety of breakfast beverages. Again, the small touches such as the monogrammed napkins and place mat, to the custom designed tableware make for a unique and memorable experience. If you are looking for an excursion, tour, restaurant recommendation, or a local spot to soak in the sun, the knowledge staff is more than happy to provide you with some of their favorites. We enjoyed the bike tour that was arranged by I Tre Bacili where we were promptly met by our bike tour guide and led on a tour of the Salento countryside from the town of Otranto to the rugged coastline. We can not wait to return to I Tre Baci! If you are on the fence about booking, don’t hesitate to book, you will not regret. I Tre Bacili is one of those rare special places, tucked behind an ancient church in one of the most quaint villages in Puglia. Thanks to the entire team for making our 3rd stay so memorable!

Nestled behind a church in a charming southern village, I Tre Bacili is a hidden gem where you can escape from reality and truly live the southern Puglia lifestyle. Every inch of I Tre Bacili was thoughtfully designed and exudes laid back luxury. Upon checking in you receive a reusable metal water bottle for use during your stay and also to take take home with you. Still and sparkling water are always on tap (the hotel tries to use zero plastic). From the stunning pool to the elegant and artistically designed breakfast room, I Tre Bacili is designed to evoke the senses and allow one to relax and recharge. The guest rooms are luxurious with fabulous beds and plush pillows, stunning bathrooms with excellent water pressure and stunning architecture. The staff at I Tre Bacili made our stay exceptional, helping to book fabulous local dining experiences and making us feel like family. The daily breakfast was phenomenal. If you are looking for a luxurious getaway that evokes all that southern Puglia has to offer, look no further. Quite possibly of the the best hotels we have ever stayed at. I can not wait to return next summer. P.S this hotel is so fabulous I am hesitant to share it with others as it’s so special and unique. 🙃

The hotel is wonderful, situated in a small town not far from the coast. The room was excellent and the bed was particularly comfy. The shower and bathroom also felt luxurious. The real selling point was the hotel manager. She was very friendly and attentive throughout our stay. When we arrived the room had a strong smell of bleach. She quickly went to buy flowers and fragrance for the room, asking us what scents we preferred. Her willingness to quickly resolve the issue and add a personal touch really made you feel valued. Breakfast was excellent too, served on the hotel’s terrace. There was limited choice, but everything we had was fresh and tasty. We hadn’t heard of Spongano before staying here but it feels like a charming little town. We ate in the town square at Picalo which was delicious! Would recommend for a couple of nights!

We booked Tre Bacili via Mr & Mrs Smith and on first impression the B&B has been tastefully decorated and is in a very quiet spot in Spongano. But, during our 5 day stay there were a few elements that didn't quite add up to the service expected for the cost of the stay. Most of the communication is done over WhatsApp as there is only one main receptionist in the morning or late afternoon, you even are not technically allowed to get into the swimming pool during 12noon and 4pm as I imagined for H&S they need a staff member on site. We found the service a bit aloof; Sabrina forgot to let us know that she had booked the local wine tasting for us, didn't offer hot drinks with breakfast on the first day and then forgot on another day. We were not informed on arrival that the internet was down due to a network issue and unfortunately, this was not rectified during our stay so we used all of our data. On check-out, my husband complained to the owner Filippo and he became very defensive, explaining that it was not their fault, he begrudgingly gave 50 euros off and told my husband to forget his hotel. They also were not able to print a statement / receipt for our stay, even though they had charged our card, eventually, they emailed a PDF after we said it is normal to have a receipt. Filippo has since messaged an apology for the "mix up", but I do think they need to understand that a constructive criticism is not a personal one. Also, it would be great if they had a honesty bar / coffee machine in a communal area during the day to access.

I really enjoyed my stay at I Tre Bacili. It is a beautiful place and I felt part of the family. Spongano is near a lot of interesting spots like Aquaviva and Ponte Ciolo which were my favourite places to visit during my stay. Zero Brits and just cool places. Far from the Instagram crowd. Filipo was outstanding at recommending great, local cuisine, his wife Luci made me feel so welcome and IIlenia had the inside track to the areas of interest. The room was outstandingly clean, the shower was powerful and the breakfast went far and beyond. It’s a great place to relax but you are also not far away from visit interesting, secret places which people don’t know about. I would definitely stay again at I Tre Bacili.

Expérience exceptionnelle dans cet hôtel en allant participer à la Castro Legend Cup 2024. Du petit déjeuner préparé avec des produits locaux et des gâteaux préparés « maison » à tomber. Des chambres aménagées avec goût et très spacieuses. Et pour terminer, du personnel très sympathique. Endroit à recommander.
