First of all, my check-in experience was awful. I booked through ******* but the staff there said they did not have a room ready for me when I arrived. They did not seem apologetic at all and even though they tried to make it right by "upgrading" me to a beachfront view room, it ended up feeling more like a downgrade because the room did not have Wifi or a phone in the room. We also did not get any phone service, so no way of calling for help in an emergency. I had paid extra for a kitchenette with my reservation but I was told the best they could do was to add a microwave in the room. The bathroom had a terrible moldy/musty and septic tank odor. I found a cockroach on the bathroom and mold on the tiles in the shower. The bathroom door had to remain shut throughout my stay because of the terrible odor.
The pool is not heated and there never seems to be any towels available. The pool was dirty, the couches around the pool were dirty and the ping pong table on the side of the pool was quite literally falling apart. The bricks around the pool were coming loose and created a trip hazard when people walked around the pool .
We ate at one of the resort restaurant, and the service was extremely slow. No one was cleaning tables in between guests. We cleaned our own.
At any given time, everything ( water bottles, towels, bathroom, wifi etC) seemed to be out of order, out of service or otherwise unavailable.
It did not feel like a resort . I have stayed at better motels.
