San Lameer Resort Hotel & Spa

What a wonderful experience. We could feed the apes in our room, and we had the most lovely breakfast ever. Everything you could think of was out to eat and we had a beautiful view! I wish I could just stay there forever! Thank you so much for your hospitality and I would highly recommend this holiday destination to anyone!

My wife and I booked a 3 night stay at the Hotel after reading rave reviews. Clearly there is a misconception of what a Resort Hotel of this caliber should offer in terms of rooms and services. We had booked a Deluxe room and when we arrived it was poky to say the least. Paint peeling off the walls from damp. The bed was so close to the table that we had to remove the chair in order to get access to the balcony through a sliding door that was impossible to shift. The toilet door could not latch. The hotel is in a terribly neglected state and deserves no more than 2 stars at best. The pictures we took will attest to that. We complained to reception about the deceiving pictures online compared to what was delivered and they apologized and offered us the only other room available which was larger. However, this room had one tiny basin, no towel hooks and a tiny shower. You could not move in that cubicle. The corner window panes were rattling in the frame as the wind howled outside. We had to stuff paper into the rotting window frame to stop the glass from rattling. The bed and linen was comfy so that was a plus. We had to order soft pillows as the standard issue were just foam chips and very uncomfortable.... The included buffet breakfast was very basic. No extras. bread was standard government issue-white or brown. No seeded or wholewheat options. Standard cereals and very basic tinned fruit options in a province renowned for its fruit. The flat white was just a cappuccino which under the circumstances was a highlight to be fair! The pool was murky. you could not see your hand in front of your face. Really sad. Unfortunately, we had pre-paid so no option to seek shelter elsewhere. I would not recommend this resort unless you get a huge family discount which seems to be the case for the locals and makes this an attractive option.

San Lameer is an excellent Holiday resort. Excellent service, clean environment, friendly staff. Reasonable cost. Excellent for a romantic getaway, as well as with family. Good facilities. Great food, especially the Breakfast. Pleasurable experience. Thank you.

We love coming to San Lameer and make a trip atleast once a year, this will more than most likely not change. The hotel room is pretty and very clean. It is however very expensive by South African standards, the price is justified in that it is one of a kind in South Africa with the clean blue flag beach, countless resort facilities and amazing rooms, patrons who can afford it are often used to a very high standard and I gather this from all the recent reviews I am not alone in my thinking. Our family booked a 4 bedroom villa my husband and I preferred to stay in the hotel since we are just a couple. We were woken up everyday around 6 am by our very loud neighbours through the interleading rooms, we actually had our neighbours kids open the door and left it open for quite a while the situation was quite funny the rooms are normally meant to be reserved for couples, if you do know a couple alone is checking in consider maybe not giving an interleading room to a room occupied with kids. On a separate occasion perhaps the room above us? We were woken up by the occupants singing. The toilet in the bathroom leaked for the entire duration of our 5 day stay we did let reception know a few times and was told it was not leaking, while we got used to the sound. It is a disregard of water wastage and probably adds significantly to the resorts water bill? We tend not to complain about our stay while we are at hotels and we did travel peak season and understood the rooms may be all fully occupied and busy and loud we spent most of our time at the villa however it did dampen the experience slightly. Only one hand towel is given, normally two towels is the norm and there's no tissues in the room which is sometimes needed for the odd spill, etc. Since I've never stayed at an hotel before without tissues I didn't pack any. I needed some matches and while my request was really late at night around 9.50pm the reception told me to ask the bar and the restaurant, both the bar and the restaurant told me they didn't have and while it was okay if they genuinely didn't have, I feel as though everyone just didn't want to look I understand it was late, however it does maybe come across as a little strange that a hotel doesn't keep matches for the odd request of it? The staff are slightly unfriendly I tend to greet everyone and some seemed surprised that I greeted them. Even some senior obviously upper management staff. I think a shuttle service maybe even charge a small fee would be great, like R5 a trip? I generally don't complain so I apologise for the slightly negative review, however we'd definitely be back in the not so distant future and would really look forward to having tissues in the room and another hand towel? I didn't mind breakfast I liked it actually and the chef by the egg station is a pro. Our check in staff was kind there was a slight issue on check in and he didn't even make it an issue. Great place Could do with a face lift but all in all the staff were friendly and the beach was lovely. The golf course looked good and overall a nice place. A bit out of Durban so it felt safe. The monkeys were hilarious 😆

The hotel is located at 3 to 20 min of several beautiful golf courses. The infrastructure is safe and offers most things one needs (my wife only missed a hand shower). The staff is very friendly and helpful. The quality of food had been somwhat better the last few years and almost every day some items on the menue were sold out.

Amazing experience, wonderful stay on a beautiful resort, Clean rooms, friendly stuff, lovely food, we really enjoyed our brake fast ,enjoyed stunning pool. ………………………service was on par, safe environment

Our honey moon experience was amazing from the cleanliness of the hotel to the staff well mannered & well Trained. Customer Service 👌👌👌. We had an amazing experience, my wife can't stop talking about it. 😍😍😍. She cried on the day we had to checkout because she didn't Want leave. She felt at home, & loved.

Gate reception staff could improve service, and restaurant could improve the ambience at dinner time. Our Aircon did not work. The room was modern and the staff were generally friendly and helpful. The resort is amazing!! So many amazing facilities especially for families with kids. Beautiful beach
