We arrived at the hotel was given our room and when we walked in it had not been cleaned we complained to reception, they had no cleaners to do it so we had to wait 45mins for other staff to do it. The reception manager apologised and gave us a free drink but this is not what we expected from a well known company completely ruined our relaxing day.

Lovely place. Lovely grounds. Very clean pool. Sauna and steam room. Very friendly staff. Rooms were very clean and the bed very comfortable. We had a very comfortable and stress free night.

Beautiful grounds! The entrance to the hotel is amazing. It’s in a fantastic setting, lovely to walk around the grounds aha explore. The room is slightly dated in comparison to other hotels, however the bed is comfy and you have a tv and hot drink facilities. Pool, jacuzzi and steam room were a nice touch.

Visited for one night room was ok not like ones in the photos very old fashion while photos showed more modern rooms

There are lovely garden , You can spent a day with children car is nesssary Very far to anywhere

Hotel is clean the staff is very nice and polite at all time willing to help. The room was very clean bed was ok , yes you can hear people walking by and in the others rooms like doors opening. We were here for a dinner do now the downside 3 course meal starter so small, second course at our table we were wonder where the vegetables again small. The dessert was larger. The drinks were very expensive that included coffee. Breakfast was ok the downside mushrooms did not taste very nice.

Sorry to say that this was a very poor stay for us! And we spoke to a few other people that also had a really bad stay (perhaps a bad weekend to visit?) Firstly the room - we stayed in a deluxe double room £169 per night not including breakfast! - we weren’t told about the very steep steps from the ground floor to the bedroom within the room - the stairs were dangerous in my opinion! The shower was underpowered and not very hot, the room and the bathroom had stains on the walls and ceiling, no fridge in the room and the heating was poor! We only wanted a snack and ordered 2 pizzas - they were clearly frozen pizzas which you can buy from any supermarket - not great quality! And we’re like warm …. £15 each!!!! The bar service was very poor … the girl with red hair (I won’t name her) was extremely rude and unprofessional… I spoke to several guests who also stated how rude she was I’m afraid The breakfast again was luke warm at best although there was a good selection - but the hot items are clearly not being monitored very well (I have worked in catering for years) All in all a poor stay and we won’t be back

Always a nice place to stay. Staff are helpful and friendly. If there is anything they can help you with they do. I have stayed here 2 times in the last year and both visits are good. Its comfortable but a bit pricey! On the whole I will always try to stay here as its convenient for travel to family and the local area.

Firstly I must say this is a lovely building which has been beautifully restored. We had booked in for afternoon tea, and my reservation was made via the hotel website. Upon arrival, they could not find our booking, despite the hostess viewing my confirmation and saying this was indeed via their website. We were seated down and they were still able to accommodate the booking. Once we were served our afternoon tea, we were disappointed. The cakes we were served were stale and dry, clearly off cuts as they had not been prepared for our reservation - tables around us had different cakes to us. We did complain and the team were kind enough to replace the cakes with some different ones. Upon finishing our afternoon tea, we moved in to the bar area. There was no music playing and the room had no atmosphere, we felt that we had to whisper in there. Overall, the staff were friendly and the building was stunning but there were many factors that left us feeling disappointed. I am unsure if I would return for afternoon tea again.
