My wife and I had the privilege of staying at Cedar Manor in November 2023. We timed our trip for the week after Thanksgiving and it worked out beautifully! The tourist crowd was mostly gone and we were able to go and see all of the lovely surrounding areas of the Lake District. The weather was surprisingly cooperative. Cedar Manor was a perfect choice, not only because it is strategically placed near the center of the District, but also because the owners, Caroline and Jonathan Kaye, have clearly put a lot of love into this lovely little part of Windermere. We enjoyed our room, which was meticulously kept by a friendly staff; our meals, perfectly prepared each morning to our order; and our tea, which was a delightful experience that you shouldn't miss if you visit the area. In all, this is a boutique accommodation with really lovely spaces and a local feel that is all about the region, including beautiful artwork on the walls (we bought 2 paintings!) and furniture appointments that feel luxurious without being stuffy. We were grateful for the opportunity to get to know the area and to the Kayes for their perfect hospitality!

Having read all the 5-star reviews, we decided to book a few nights at this property to celebrate our 1st anniversary. Our expectations were exceeded as Caroline and Jonathan made sure that we had everything we needed (and more) to make our stay one of a kind. We also had a delightful afternoon tea, which I highly recommend. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. We had breakfast every morning and we enjoyed everything they served with no exception. They do pay attention to every detail and accommodate everyone. We will certainly return as this was one of the most relaxing places we stayed at.

My wife and I stayed for four nights in this delightful boutique hotel to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Johnathan and Caroline were the perfect hosts. The Hotel is beautifully decorated and immaculately kept throughout. Breakfasts were absolutely perfect with just the right amount of choice, plentiful and delicious. We particularly liked the manicured and well stocked pretty garden. As a treat we pre- booked the afternoon tea - we had read the reviews and we certainly were not disappointed. My wife considers herself to be something of an afternoon tea connoisseur, having sampled many, including some top end London Hotels. She has never had better - high praise indeed! Fabulous hotel in a fabulous part of the country. Even four days of wind and rain could not ruin our stay!!

Just had the most amazing afternoon tea, the best we have ever had. What a selection of goodies we had! Starter, fish course then traditional sandwiches. The desserts and scones were to die for. Lovely hotel, very relaxed and owners very welcoming. Would highly recommend this. The rooms are beautifully decorated.

Visited for a short break for my 60th birthday. We booked here as we had visited before for afternoon tea and enjoyed it so much we wanted to return. Everything was just as I'd hoped it would be. The room was lovely, the breakfast was perfect and the hosts friendly and welcoming. Thankyou so much .

Booked to stay at cedar Manor as a birthday celebration over the Easter holiday. Located in short walking distance of the centre of Windermere and with great parking. The pictures of the outside are beautiful but really that is only half the story. We arrived Friday afternoon and were shown to our room. To say that first impressions count is an understatement - the view from our (rather large) window was out towards Windermere lake and the hills beyond - simply stunning. Our room was well furnished with a separate dressing area leading to well equipped bathroom. Our breakfast was well presented and hot! Each night after wed been out visiting the surrounding areas we came back for a nightcap in the beautifully appointed guest lounge. Our hosts for the weekend Caroline and Jonathon were as charming as the hotel itself. We cannot recommend this hotel enough - book NOW

This was our second visit to this beautiful boutique hotel the first time being 5 years ago. Everything about the hotel is just amazing… the attention to detail with everything is perfect. Jonathon and Caroline are the perfect hosts and should be very proud of their beautiful award winning hotel. We will definitely be back for another relaxing stay sometime soon.

This is at least our 4th Stay with Jonathan and Caroline at Cedar Manor. What I love is the lovely welcome, attention to detail and the willingness to change if something is not right. The food is excellent and the service is exceptional. I m Gluten free and the chef always ensures that I am looked after well, to the point he will make the pancake batter the day before so they are just right ( big thank you for that). Jonathan and Caroline were extremely helpful drying out my wetsuit after a beautiful swim in Buttermere lake and Jonathan has never led us astray on fab walks to do. Highly recommend Cedar manor.

Jonathan and CC Caroline think of everything! Their mission is to meet every need and they do that by asking, listening, and doing. Small things like preferred foods, beverages, trip and walk recommendations, room supplies and cleaning products were all customized. At the same time, we felt like part of the family during our stay. We read, relaxed, and talked in every room on the main floor. Super comfortable, quiet, and spacious. The grounds are immaculate thanks to Caroline's love and attention. Our hosts were also our chefs and servers for memorable personally ordered breakfasts each morning at the time of our choice. All delicious! The location is perfect for short walks to the lake and local hikes. It's also ideal for Grasmere and ferry docks. In the middle of everything. Best tip - enjoy the afternoon tea! It's delicious and relaxing. Plenty of sandwiches, pastries, tea and coffee and other surprises. We had ours on couches near the bar area away from the dining room. We also appreciated their dedication to sustainability and environmental impact. I cannot recommend this establishment more highly. 6 out of 5 stars!
