카스텔 반 오르딩엔(Kasteel Van Ordingen)

Chapeau! Perfect, hotel, inrichting, chef, personeel alles tot in detail mooi en smaakvol. We hadden suite 103, en de kamer was prachtig mooi i gericht. Erg fijn dat de kasteelvrouwe in de ochtend even komt bij t ontbijt de chefkok na t diner en de kasteelheer buiten rondloopt. Waar maak je dat nog mee. Echt een degelijke goede zaken familie. We hebben genoten en komen zeker weer en we vertellen familie en vrienden hier zeker heen te gaan. Groot compliment voor meneer die dit kasteel heeft gerestaureerd, van ons en mijn man is ook aannemer, dit is zoals het hoort, puur vakmanschap!

In general , everything is great. The only thing is about the bathroom that I suggest an additional door can be installed to keep the bathroom as an individual space to make people feel better.

This review is about the bistro of the Ordingen castle, located in a suburb of of 3800 Sint-Truiden, Belgium. My wife and I visited the bistro on the evening of 10th September 2023. We arrived in time to find the last available table outside. The atmosphere and the clientele were what we expected to find in this lush surrounding. My wife ordered the halibut, I had the salmon. Although pricey and served in small portions, both dishes were perfectly prepared and meticulously finished. My mousseline sauce was so excellent that we both enjoyed every drop of it. I had a glass of white wine of the house to go with it. Perfectly chilled and a perfect match. Although my wife and I consider ourselves very spoiled, we were pleasantly surprised about the quality of these dishes. However, that cannot be said about the staff. Leaving the apprentice out of the equation, I found the staff lacking in refinement and experience. The manager turned out to be a scruffy looking individual, who distinguished himself in a disrespectful way; when serving the drinks he managed to squeeze the lower part of his body between myself and my wife, making physical contact. His assistant clearly did not cope with the number of clients. Possibly through a lack of experience, or due to fatigue, he did not pay attention to his clients. As a result, it took a long time to place orders and get the bill. Nevertheless, we wish to pay our compliments to the chef, who is probably oblivious to the poor performance of the rest of the staff. We will be trying out the hotel restaurant very soon.

Very good hotel, good staff and service

Really liked the location of this hotel, set in a lovely countryside setting and close to the town of Sint Truiden which we enjoyed exploring during our stay. We travelled from Amsterdam and it was a very easy journey by car. Despite not usually opting for more ‘traditional’ style of a hotel, we thought the rooms had been thoughtfully refurbished in line with the history of the building and were very clean. The spa was very small and needed to be booked in advance. We were also a little disappointed that the hotel was not able to assist us in making an advance reservation at the main restaurant during our stay, as we would have preferred not to eat in the more casual restaurant on-site both evenings. This was probably made worse by the noise from the restaurant keeping us awake until very late due to guests / staff hanging around in the downstairs hallway (our room was the first at the top of the stairs). All in all, we expected a little more from our stay, and would probably look elsewhere next time we book a weekend getaway.

We loved this hotel!! We visited the hotel for the first time and felt so welcomed by the lovely and very helpful staff. Special thanks to Nele was so kind, made our stay at the hotel so exceptional. The hotel is fabulous!!! The room so clean!!! Like in a fairy tale.. The location is amazing. We will definitely come again and again.. Thank you so much.

Wij zijn onder de indruk van dit prachtige, met liefde en smaak , gerenoveerde kasteel waar Service en gastvrijheid hoog in het vaandel staat. Onze suite 104 was stijlvol en comfortabel ingericht met veel aandacht voor detail. Een heerlijk bed en keuze uit diverse kussens. Waterkoker werd op verzoek gebracht. De minibar is inclusief met vruchtensap, softdrinks, water en een Belgisch biertje. Een fijne grote badkamer, heerlijk Guerlain producten maar met (helaas) douche in bad. Dit kan voor minder mobiele gasten lastig zijn. De Hotelbar is zeer uitbundig kleurrijk ingericht en is een fijne plek om een drankje te drinken voor het diner. Diner in Aurum restaurant was spectaculair ! Prachtige smaken, mooie wijn-spijscombinaties en zeer attente service zonder dat het te formeel was. Nog ( kleine) aandachtspunten; De service bij het ontbijt verliep wat traag en de prijs - kwaliteit van Bistro Richard was niet geheel in balans naar onze mening. Dat is jammer, want verder hebben wij een voortreffelijke ervaring gehad en komen graag nog eens terug ! Een groot compliment voor alle medewerkers die ervoor zorgen dat je je meteen thuis voelt, altijd in zijn voor een praatje of toelichting en er duidelijk plezier in hebben om op deze mooie plek te werken. Tip: ga zeker op zoek naar de 'geheime" gang die van het kasteel naar de Bistro loopt.

La nouvelle partie du château est à éviter. Le château est joli mais les chambres ne sont vraiment pas d’un certain standard. À mon avis, cette partie aurait pu être faite avec plus de goût.

Enkele jaren geleden hebben we hier gelogeerd en we hadden er toen goede herinneringen aan. Het ontbijt was toen net als nu erg duur (30€) maar was toen wel zeer royaal en met bediening. De prijs is hetzelfde gebleven maar het niveau is sterk gedaald en absoluut geen Relais en Chateau niveau. Nu is het buiten de drank en wat eiergerechten hoofdzakelijk zelfbediening en de keuze van het buffet is niets speciaals en wordt naar het einde toe zelfs niet voldoende aangevuld. De ruimte is niet bepaald gezellig en druk en er is onvoldoende personeel.
