We were on a tour through Sri Lanka and one event during our trip was the "Mahaovita Dinner“ of the Cassandra Culture Resort. We didn't know what to expect, and we had one of the most fantastic experiences I can think of. I always want to find out about how people live and eat in each country, so here we had a great chance to find out. It took place in a little hut by a lake, started with a local drink and then we not only learned about local food but they showed us how the different meals were made, we could even prepare some ourselves. Then we all ate with our fingers, as it's done here in Sri Lanka. What can I say, the food was delicious, the people very friendly, especially our host Miss Pramodya Herath was extremely friendly and open. It was a pleasure to join this dinner experience. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you, Pramodya and team, for a wonderful evening.

We are returning to Sri Lanka for the fourth time, each time we start our holiday in Sigiriya. We are very glad that we found the Cassandra Culture Resort hotel. Every year the hotel gets better and better. We liked that the hotel management and staff are trying to make your stay enjoyable and memorable. I would also like to mention the hotel owner, who speaks Russian very well - he is a very interesting conversationalist. After a long flight, when you reach your hotel, go for a massage, visit numerous attractions or go on a safari. After which it will always be a pleasure to return to the Cassandra Culture Resort. Next time we will definitely start our vacation from this hotel.

A very nice hotel in an excellent location to discover the Sigiriya area. Spacious and comfortably furnished room with top WiFi. Very quiet and well kept resort with a large and very clean pool. A very tasteful restaurant, which allows romantic outdoor meals in the fresh air. The quality of the generous menu is exceptionally good. However, the heart of the hotel is the friendly and helpful staff. Every wish is read from your eyes with pleasure. Above all, Mme Pramodya, the absolutely professional and very amiable person responsible for the catering area, advised us very well and made it possible to prepare a Sri Lankan specialty especially for us. Many thanks again for that🙏 We will be happy to recommend this hotel to others and will take the opportunity ourselves whenever possible.

The staff, especially HM Pramadya Herath are exceptional. A lovely relaxing stay. Thank you for such a lovely stay. We really enjoyed ourselves and the view was absolutely amazing! Straight out to Lions 🦁 Rock. Highly recommend for a relaxing time.

First the good things: the setting is lovely (although hard to get to on a very bumpy road so you can't easily get away from it, say to get a good meal); the pool area lovely and the rooms well-appointed, many with a nice view. Now the bad: the food is very poor, pretty much an insult and it left us hungry at the end. I cannot fathom how there can be so many positive comments about the food on this site. This is no doubt one of the worst meals we have had in our lives and we eat pretty much anything. I cannot understand how it is possible to prepare such a bland, tasteless meal in a country so full of wonderful ingredients, spices and taste. I'm terrified that we will have to go through this experience again tomorrow as we're here for another day and there are no alternatives around. Really, really disappointing. I would definitely not recommend this to anyone who enjoys good food and considers good meals an important part of the holiday experience.

All major hotels in Sigiriya are on the main rodes. A little off the beaten track is Cassandra Culture Resort. However, the extra mile is absolutely worth it. The very friendly and welcoming staff is led by Ms. Herath, all service-related experiences are amazing and fullfilled. In addition, the delicious kitchen led by Mr. Nilantha is great and leaves nothing desired. Highly recommend this friendly and warm as well as open-minded place with great service and food!

We had a wonderfull stay at this resort. A warm welcome and all friendly staff. Room are huge with good aircon and spacious bathroom. Great to sit on your large balcony. From the resort you can see the Lion Rock also. The food at the restaurant is delicious with good portions and reasonable prices. An other highlight was the new to start eco village experience. Our guide Pramodya and her team did a wonderfull job in hosting us. It was a short walk tot the local temple where we offered some flower. After this we walked to the lake with a beautiful view. Some local people where raking a bath also. Than the local pick up truck was waiting to bring us to aunties home. Aunties cocked us as delicious meal with the famous hopper and some curries. The whole team did a great job.

Had a very pleasant stay in Cassandra Sigiriya Resort. It is tucked away in a quote and peaceful area. The manager Promidya is very accommodating and welcoming. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel was also good. Would recommend for a few days stay.

The hotel is very peaceful and cozy. The swimming pool surrounded by forest gives a close to the nature look. The staff gets full marks on their hospitality Nice breakfast buffet with combination of local and global cousines
