호스탈 로마 세비야(Hostal Roma)

Great little hostal in Seville's old town. As the last review on Tripadvisor was in 2021, I can only surmise that a lot of work has been done at the hotel since then as those negative reviews do not reflect my experience. Stayed for four nights in an en-suite, inner, single room on the 1st floor for €40 per night and was very happy. Spotless. Big, comfortable, single bed. Good bathroom with powerful shower. TV, strong WiFi and air conditioning. Very quiet so sleep quality was excellent. Friendly staff and a great location. One star deducted for lack of power points (One inside the door and one in the bathroom. None near the bed). No bar/restaurant, which is the norm in many 1 and 2 star hostals but there are plenty nearby. There's a vending machine at reception. Airport bus is a few minutes' walk away. I've stayed in much more expensive, higher rated hotels but wouldn't hesitate in booking Roma again. Remember that it's a 2* and base your expectations on that. You won't be disappointed.

I’d like to have a refund. I booked a specific room but the hostel didn’t provide that room. The place was dirty and full of Beatles. I took pictures to provide that.

- Receptionists don't speak English. They speak Spanish and they don't care whether you understand them or not. They are not helpful. It wasn't very pleasant. - The room has no window to the outside. There is a window to a closed apartment gap. The room smells so bad. The air is not fresh. We couldn't sleep on the first night. We asked them to change our room but they didn't. We had to open the room door to get some air to be able to sleep. It was very annoying. - Blankets are so old and smell bad.

Not allowed to use coffee machine on early departure 😡

Arrived in the hostel Roma and the man on the reception was asking me to pay in full I tried to select euros in the card machine he said I should pay in pounds . I said no euros is the local currency . Then I went to the room . The room was smelling of cigarettes and the top cover of the bed was dirt . I real did not want to stay the I had to pay for the cancellation and he did even offer me a better room .. very disappointing …

The staff seemed friendly initially (though I couldn't understand them without my translation app). Outdated, somewhat sad room. Strong stench of smoke. Keys must be left at front desk when going out. The front door is locked, and the front desk is frequently unattended. So, I had to wait outside a couple times until the staff would return to the lobby. I couldn't get the A/C to work, but finally after several hours somebody came to switch it on. (They seemed annoyed that I was eager to turn on the A/C when I was swimming in my own sweat.) Paying with my credit card they insisted that I select USD, thus incurring a $3 FEE. In two months of paying with credit cards in Spain, not a single other business forced me to select USD instead of Euro (which would have avoided the fee). I resent that. I DO NOT recommend this hotel. Better options abound.

L'hôtel est très bon marché, bien situé, personnel très aimable, très propre et nous avions une belle douche neuve visiblement. Le souci c'est l'insonorisation, on entend les voisins et surtout, quand on ouvre la lumière de la salle de bain la VMC se déclenche, elle est assez bruyante et si votre voisin décide d'aller aux toilettes ou de se doucher au milieu de la nuit vous risquez d'être réveillé . Donc si vous avez un petit budget et des boules Quies c'est OK.

Me alojé la última vez en el hostal el pasado fin de semana coincidente con la maratón Zurich,motivo por el cual, intuyo el porqué del precio tan elevado por noche. No es la única vez que me he alojado en el hostal,pues tiene muy buena ubicación. Entiendo que se aproveche las situaciones y se intente sacar mas rentabilidad al negocio,sin embargo,si digo,que es de ser legal adaptar el precio a lo que ofreces. Pagar por una noche en este establecimiento 140 euros,es con todos mis respetos un robo. El hotel,es aceptable,pero por ejemplo tiene muy mala insonorización,escuchas hasta respirar al de la habitación de al lado. Las toallas bastante desgastadas con agujeros, el bidet completamente rajado,deduzco que de un golpe. ...en fin ...son detalles que creo que no son aceptables como para pagar 140 euros. Buena limpieza, habitación dentro de la normalidad en confort y amplitud. Por cosas como estas,que no tuve más remedio que coger ese alojamiento,no repetiré. Prefiero pagar igual o un poco más y que haya más honradez en lo que se ofrece Suerte

Malísima experiencia después de lo abusivo del precio. Sé que a una pensión no se le puede pedir mucho, pero que menos que esté limpio y exactamente eso es lo que NO TIENE.. LIMPIEZA! Arañas en cada rincón de la habitación, humedades con desconchones en las paredes y cucarachas paseándose por la habitación (suelo y paredes). Tenia reservada 2 noches y evidentemente solo he estado 1 y saliendo por patas en cuanto amaneció. Le di las quejas al recepcionista y se inmutó. NO LO RECOMIENDO. TRS Turquesa
