Hotel Relais de La Cote d'or

Here we are again .... for the ? (8th or 9th) time and it continues to be the perfect place, either for a stopover or an extended stay. Accommodation remains superb and the breakfast is one of the best we've experienced in all of France. The steady improvements that are being made under Axel's directorship are having a very positive bearing on the quality of the hotel. Staying at this hotel will always be on our list when travelling to, or through, Burgundy.

Amazing hotel, really cosy, and perfect location in this wonderful middle age city. Our room had so much space, with modern and old mixed design. Heard the owner say there’s a Spa in creation process. We will for sure come back and stay longer if we can. Thank you again Axel for your kindness and professionalism.

Located on very busy street but right in the centre of town. Friendly welcome and no problems putting out bikes in locked garage. We were on top floor so room was a little dark as one tiny window and many low beams but good size and bathroom was lovely Kettle in room but paper cups!!! Luckily we had our own. Didn’t feel it warranted the $138Euro though

An absolute gem of a hotel. Initially we thought of it as a stopover on our way back north. However, that soon changed and now view it as a destination in its own right. The quality of service provided by Axel and his mother is superb. The hotel is so clean and so well organised. It doesn't have a restaurant, but that doesn't matter as Axel will provide recommendations for a number of close by establishments. The bedroom and bathroom were sheer bliss. So well furnished and comfortable with every need catered for. The breakfast is excellent (that lemon cake with poppy seeds is just to die for!). So much praise for this beautiful place. And the village of Semur-en-Auxois, in which it is located, is beautiful to wander around. We will defintely be back on our next trip to France

This small charming hotel suited us perfectly on our tour from the U.K. to southern France and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful especially as I needed gluten free meals which isn’t always easy in France. The room was spotless, quiet and comfortable.

The hotel is in a great location. We used it as a base to travel to multiple locations in Burgundy. It is right in the heart of Semur. The decor was well done. It made you feel like you were staying in a guest room of a home. Very clean and a helpful staff.
