호텔 비츠나우어호프(Hotel Vitznauerhof - Lifestyle Hideaway at Lake Lucerne)

Bad check in experience. On check in no one helped with the bags and explained how the room worked. We were very hungry and tied and did not find any way to call the reception or room service. No menu in sight. I had to call you via my India mobile on your external number.  I could not get the bags up the narrow stairs to the fifth floor and had to go down to the reception to get help. To be fair, the receptionist came up right away to help.  Phone on the 5th floor room does not work. We figured out later that we could use the iPad on the 4th floor to call.  We had a bad experience at the Peruvian pop up restaurant. The wine and starters were excellent but the two vegetarian main courses were inedible. When we complained, no solution was offered. Instead we were charged in full. When I insisted that one or both main courses be taken off the bill we were told to speak to management.  We met with your VP about the lunch bill. She was very nice and assured us that she would take care of the issue.  Around 5 pm today we called for room service, as we did not had a good lunch. We found it hard to communicate and a simple request for a chesse sandwich was declined. We were shocked that in Switzerland a cheese sandwich was impossible. This after your VP assured us that we looked after.  We ordered something off the menu.  We called after some time asking for a dessert to be added to the bill. We first checked that the order had not yet been sent.  We were surprised that you charged an extra CHF 10 on two separate bills. It's not the money, but the attitude that is upsetting.  In addition the focaccia was some kind of bread roll. Unlike any focaccia we have seen anywhere.  The room has serious design flaws.  A) No doorbell means that your staff cannot be heard upstairs and need to make calls.  B) Phone in 5th floor does not work.  C) No view when you sit down in the balcony. Simply one of the finest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Service was sensational. Food equally sensational. Room decor and everything about the hotel is absolutely incredible. I will recommend it again and again. every single detail was attended to. Located in one of the nicest part of Lake Lucerne.

Our hotel restaurant was closed for the day, and they made us a reservation here. What a treat. Beautiful view across the lake and excellent service. Fantastic fusion food with Asian/Italian leaning. The "deconstructed" egg fried rice was very interesting. Wine list was a bit pricy, but we enjoyed the Swiss Viognier and Malbec!

This historic hotel is in perfect condition and mixes nicely ancient and modern. The rooms are very nice and confortable with modern design and fully modern bathroom. Very nice location by the lake shore, with a lovely garden. Perfect dinner and breakfast. It is always s pleasure to return to this hotel. Thank you.

Cannot say enough good things about this property, the staff, and amenities. The exterior is traditional Swiss architecture while the interior is all modern luxury. Exactly the type of experience we were looking for! The breakfast - which was included in our rate - was phenomenal. The staff was well-informed about the area and eager to help. We were here for a couple of days. On day one we took the train (Rigi Bahn) up the mountain, took a cable car to another peak, and hiked back down. On day two, we walked around in town for a bit, relaxed on the property overlooking Lake Lucerne. A magical experience we will treasure forever!

We are still overwhelmed by how perfect our stay was at the Vitznauerhof. We had around 40 guests staying from abroad for a couple of days before and after the wedding and the feedback has been fantastic from everybody - Swiss, Germans and Brits alike. The hotel, location, lake, view, activities and food is outstanding, with "above and beyond" service standards. The wedding was organised to perfection, from the start we felt we could trust Ms. van Can completely and leave it all in her competent hands. We would have liked to add some constructive feedback but seriously struggle; maybe that we feel sad that we probably can't celebrate every anniversary here? ;-) Thank you to everyone, this hotel is a true gem at the Lake of Lucerne and the fantastic team makes all the difference.

The building is beautiful, extremely well situated on the lake, benefitting from the direct access to the beautiful lake, and proposing many outstanding services: free paddles, great restaurants on the lake shore, spa, jacuzzi, etc. The staff is professional and friendly. A pity that the following basic things were not well managed: - in our rooms on the top floor, there was nothing to prevent the light from entering the room. If, like us, you don’t sleep well when the daylight enters you bedroom in the morning, then you have to avoid this hotel. - we had poor quality pillows (small and hard) and only one per person. - the bathrooms and the bath products were of a so-so quality. For the price you pay, you would expect these basic issues to be fixed. A pity as all the rest is close to perfect!

Glamping Experience: We stayed one night to try the new "glamping" at the hotel. We would not repeat. The tents are pitched behind two kitchens - the main hotel and the restaurant Sens. Around 11pm when you are trying to go to sleep you hear the staff cleaning up, taking out the garbage and making noise. You also hear the road noise with motorcycles and trucks going by at all hours. The tent itself was musty as they close all the ventilation with the result being a moldy tent. Not much about the experience was glamorous. The young lady from reception who brought us to the tent knew almost nothing about it. There is no hotel service, no morning coffee to be brought to the tent. The best you get is you can use the shower in the spa.

The perfect stay for a couple with great location, excellent amenities as well as friendly and competent service. The lake is just next to the hotel park, spa and pool are there to relax and the food is of high quality. And the staff are outstanding, well trained, always helpful and with a smile
