그랜드 호텔 베손(Chaberton Lodge & Spa)

Me and my partner stayed at the Chaberton Lodge & Spa hotel for five nights in February. Starting with the positives: - There were three members of staff that made our trip, and our experience at the hotel would not have been the same without them. We didn’t catch their names however it was the man in the restaurant with tattoos (amazing service and always had a smile on this face), the older lady on the front desk with light brown short hair (always happy to see us and helped us with any questions we had) and our shuttle bus driver (I think his name was Andrea, he helped us with our skis and was always cheerful). - The food quality is very good, the breakfast menu is extensive and the dinner we had at the hotel was worth the money. - The spa at the hotel was lovely and I would highly recommend to anyone staying. - The shuttle bus service to the chair lift is great and the driver was really nice. - The hotel lobby area is beautiful, there is a bar with lots of cosy seating areas and a fireplace with snowy mountain scenery. - Room was cosy, traditional mountain lodge hotel aesthetic Now on to the negatives of our stay: - I made the hotel aware that I was proposing to my girlfriend on this trip and booked dinner at the hotel restaurant next to the fireplace. I was told 30 minutes before my booking that the fireplace seating I booked was no longer available due to a large group of people arriving soon. We had our dinner at a different table and no large group came into the restaurant. - Considering the money that we spent at this hotel and the fact we chose to spend our engagement evening at the hotel, they didn’t congratulate us or acknowledge our engagement in any way (complimentary glass of champagne or special touches in the room would have been nice) - The younger breakfast staff were not great. Every request felt like we were a nuisance to them and they lacked common sense and kept forgetting simple requests. - On check-out, the hotel attempted to charge me more than what was due. I corrected them and they amended the bill. Might have been trying it on! - The hotel is quite old and as a result, you hear absolutely everything (people talking / walking in the corridor and you can hear water running through the pipes). We woke up throughout the night numerous times. - The towels were old and very rough. The hotel should invest in some newer softer towels. We also weren’t given fresh towels throughout our stay. Taking all of the above into consideration, we did have enjoy our stay however we were expecting a lot more given the money being charged per night. I have stayed at a number of hotels in Sauze and I wouldn’t say the more expensive rates are completely justified. There is a lot of room for improvement.

Wonderful experience, splendid food, fantastic staff, great skiing resort, highly recommended. Great reception, incredible shuttle service, lively and entertaining karaoke and cocktail nights, already thinking of going back next year!

A brilliant half term ski break. The hotel was very good - rustic 4 star. The best part of the stay has to be the staff; from reception through to the bar and waiting staff they all worked very hard. A massive thank you and shout out to Celeste who made our mornings and evenings extra special with his attention to detail and thoughtful service. Another highlight has to be John Biancale who sang every night in the hotel bar and was fantastic. Any song you could possibly want to hear John is on it and makes the overall experience of the hotel unique. Giovanni also was delightful and delivered a brilliant shuttle service up to and down from the Sportina chair lift. A brilliant and memorable stay!!! Xxxx

This place was just great, we have really enjoyed ourselves. It was a party of 8 and we all have been looked after really well. Staff was very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. It is not a budget meal type place but definitely recommend it.

Staff where really nice, location perfect, views outstanding, comfortable in lounge area outside and in the bedroom. We stayed for 4 nights and the food was good for 3 evenings the last evening it was poor. This should not have been as there was only one other couple staying in the hotel. Hotel manager was very good at looking after us, thank you.

My company organized a team building weekend in Chaberton lodge and spa. We had amazing time! The friendliest and the kindest staff ever. Very high level of hospitality in a warm and “like-at-home” a**osphere. A special thanks for the waiter Celeste (we adored him!), the evening dj and singer (great voice and energy) and a lady manager (she’s so warm, kind and has the loveliest smile) :) You made our weekend unforgettable. Thanks to everyone! You can also get the ski pass in the hotel and have your skis brought up to the hotel by the local ski rental. The rooms are beautiful! The food in the restaurant - the best.

Staff are excellent and very efficient. Top class. Breakfast is very good and expansive. Worth getting at least the breakfast. Ambience is great. Shuttle service to ski lifts excellent. Rooms of a good standard. Spa is very good but costs extra.

Thank you to all the staff who were extremely helpful and very friendly. Celeste the waiter was fantastic and great fun and all other waiters & waitresses were fantastic too. Excellent location, beautiful views & fantastic food. The skiing was great too. Can’t wait to come back.

Our third stay here and absolutely loved it as ever! Fantastic views and surrounding area, staff are so friendly and the spa is amazing. Breakfast was delicious and staff could not have been kinder and done more for us, with a special shout out for Celeste and Umbro! We look forward to seeing you again next year!
