Overall a lovely stay and fantastic base for walking and exploring Oia and Fira, I loved the walks, the magnificent views of the caldera and amazing buildings clinging to the cliffs along the way. The first time we did 2 km to Fira it took took 3 hours !, not because it was hard but you just had to stop for the multitude of photographic opportunities. We arrived on 13/10 and stayed a week, the weather was a little unseasonable and definitely on the chilly side with high winds in the evening, but we expected this so had packed warm fleece and poncho. The benefits of the late season was definitely less crowds, it was noticeable in Fira when the large cruise ships arrived. The room facility was lovely, we had a small heated swimming pool ( at 30 degrees, this was lovely) the room faced west so sun during the day was late to arrive. This wasn’t a week of sunbathing so we didn’t mind, Bed was comfortable, bathroom clean and well stocked ( I wouldn’t necessarily class the products as 5 star but it wasn’t a big enough problem for me to down grade. Bed very comfortable and sleep quality throughout the stay fantastic. Yolanda and front of house team worked hard to keep guests happy and I found them really responsive to any slight problem Overall I would stay here again, however I may be tempted to come early September rather than October. It depends what you’re looking for really, if it’s sunbathing all day make sure you are facing south rather than west ( great sunsets) like we were.
