Second visit to this hotel having visited in 2023. We arrived late February staying 14 nights. Check in was quick, although our room was not ready when we arrived. We had emailed the hotel prior to arrival requesting a bed topper and expressing a wish to have a room facing into the hotel - however neither of these requests happened. I chased the topper before we went to dinner and by the time we returned later that evening it had been fitted, thank you. We were also left without bathroom towels one day, this took three requests at reception to be rectified, which was disappointing. The main restaurant provided a wide choice of food but we did notice the staff levels were much lower and therefore service for drinks was very slow. The pool bar was, as always very busy, again staff numbers were very low all the time we were there and on occasions long queues formed at the bar. To summaries - good points: clean hotel, varied buffet, good selection of drinks (both alcoholic and nonalcoholic) excellent hard working friendly staff Disappointing points: low staff numbers impacting on level of service provided. Overall we had a lovely winter break, but felt the hotel had lost a little of its shine from the previous year - albeit all staff are working very hard and long hours to try and provide guests with the best experience. Will we visit again…..maybe, but we would definitely look elsewhere first.
