Cape Verde. Halos in Santa Maria. Through love holiday. Paid £2200+ for 2. All inclusive. Lisbon stop. Awful, unfriendly airport. Paid for lounge! No time to use! This is a holiday from he!! Been waiting 4 yrs for this. We are amongst a bomb site. If I can show pic’s I will. The hotel is a beach hut. Bedding smell bad. Couldn’t use. Hut smells Nothing in here. Was left a bottle of water & dried pizza on arrival. After we paid €31 import tax to this hell hole. €50 to app the government here via the hotel(use term loosely) it is a yuk hole. Would not recommend Cape Verde. Would never book a holiday through LH! I would never return. All inclusive (drinks) r cheap & nasty tasting. Food ok.

February 2025 1. No hot & cold running water for 16 hours each day, every day. *Now 18hrs per day 2. No kettle in room 3. Very limited AI drinks selection 4. Coffee not included in All-inclusive 5. Red wine served from the fridge 6. Bedside light wires exposed 7. Huge crack in building on third floor balcony. 8. Previous guests drinks glasses on a shelf in kitchen still dirty. 9. Shower water discoloured. 10. Sink tap water discoloured. 11. Reception and bar so drafty the staff wear coats. 12. I have photos & videos for anyone that may want proof.

The pool is very cold, we were not able to stay in for more than a minute. Matrace is too soft and very bedsore, pillows terribly hard. Half of the days, you dont get ANY tap water, so if you go to toilet at night, you have no chance to flush, during the day you need to pray the water is on so that you are able to take shower. Wardrobes in the rooms are quite poor, one was so smelly of mold that we were not able to use it. I appreciate a variety of nice fish, vegetable, pasta dishes, food was allways fresh, tasty and abundant. I also like the fact they stay away from single use plastic bottles and prefer reusable glass ones. I would not choose this hotel for my vacation again.

We arrived with the late night plane - got there, and had the key handed out. We had pre reserved, and entered credit card details - but that seemingly did not do anything. Went to the room, the pictures are for sure taken in a different lightning and when the place were newer. The whole idea of picking a place with apartment style of renting, were to have the freedom of making food etc. As it were quite late, we went to bed - first thing that happens when I pull the sheet off, are 5 silverfish fleeing off the bed. I decided to pull everything off, and check everywhere for more. Displeased went to bed. We woke up, decided to check what was included in the "apartment style" room, and found out.. nothing - we had a bottle of water and 3 glasses, and that was it. There were not cutlery, no plates, no pans or anything like that. The idea of making your own food, and having the freedom to do so, quickly vanished. Breakfast is okay, just stay away from the boiled eggs is my suggestion - they overcook them to the point of being black. Getting what they make from scratch though, while you are there - is really good. Some of the personel were nice, some of them straight up arrogant and refused to even say hi or look at you. Overall - I cannot recommend against this enough, if you look for a good experience. There are so many, seemingly nice places around Santa Maria. Luckily I only stayed there for 3 days, and booked an AirBnB for the rest of my trip- which made all the difference. So my advice - stay away, find a better place.

Best hotel we’ve stayed in for years ! Risotto is the best ! It was set round a lovely courtyard which was sheltered . The apartment was spotless and beautifully cleaned every day . The food was fabulous and was far better than the Tui platinum we stayed in last year . No battle for sunbeds always room around the pool and no saving of beds which was great. The beach was fabulous and a short walk down one street to access the private part with own bar . The staff are so friendly and warm

Nice location, but next time I would choose another hotel. Weak for 4 stars, the shower is moldy and the door cannot be opened. Meals are repeated after 3 days. The pool is small for such a number of guests, but there are enough sunbeds on the beach, the bar is also great, you can taste the local grogue. The work of the bartenders and animators is excellent, and now three things that disappointed me the first, before leaving on the last day, I returned to the room and my toothbrush was really from the soap even in the part where the bristles are, which means that the maid happily uses your personal things for cleaning, this is absolutely unacceptable and no one should allow this! Another thing is poorly described dishes, it would be better to translate them all into English or several languages, but properly! As an example, I will give "chicken schnitzels" while eating, I found out that among the schnitzels there are pieces with wrapped and fried ham. (someone could confuse it with undercooked chicken) and why is there another food under this name at all. Then also a weak current of water, but maybe that is the problem of the whole island? I would really like the hotel to work on these things in the future, because Cabo Verde is great. :) Recommended to visit: Santa Maria, water sports, Murdeira, Buracona, Buggy trip, Sharkbay, Zipline, Solinas lake, shell cemetery
