포자다 두 마르방 - 차밍 호텔(Pousada de Marvao – Charming Hotel)

This is located in a very tranquil region, with really nice views over the valley. The staff are the nicest, the service very good. We had a meat at the hotel restaurant and the food was also very nice, with a good selection from the menu. Unfortunately the room and the furniture are quite "tired", do not do justice to all around it. Overall though a nice experience

A very friendly welcome. The room was small but extremely comfortable with a balcony with a stunning view. We got up to watch the sunrise! The staff offered to move us to a bigger room if we preferred but we loved it!! The Pousada is well placed to visit the castle and the bar area was spacious and comfortable also with great views. Breakfast was also good with a nice buffet.

Magical place with the friendliest people. Beautiful landscape and delicious meals. The rooms are welcoming, clean and the offers are personalized. The location is excellent, mountainous as expected. The children and their father loved exploring a piece of Portuguese history.

A beautiful hill top village with its castle and quaint houses. The pousada is a very interesting long and thin building on either side of a narrow street. There are wonderful views from the dining room and bar/lounge area. Our bedroom had good views - albeit somewhat obstructed by new railings on a communal patio area (not used in chilly Jan) - but lower floor ones don't so check. The staff were excellent especially Daniel who had been drafted in from a nearby closed pousada. Sadly, the restaurant was closed for dinners but breakfast was good and snack food, e.g. soup, was available. We walked to the other restaurants in town which were good. Daniel advised on them and helped book us each evening.

Absolutely charming hotel in an exquisite location that feels like you are at the top of the world. The views from the hotel restaurant are totally breathtaking. Even in inclement weather - like we had on our stay this time -the views felt mysterious and magical. The check in staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming.

We visited in September in bad weather and when the kitchen was closed for chef’s holidays. First tip there are two car parks, make sure you find the higher one. We had to carry our bags up flights of stairs and down again at the end. The room was fine but the bedrooms suffer from all the floors being stone. Add noisy door slammers. Chose a room far away from the lifts. Breakfast was average by the standards of our near 4 weeks in Portugal. We had some moments when the weather cleared and there are spectacular views. All felt a bit end of season with few staff around.

The hotel is in a beautiful village. The staff are welcoming and speak very good English. The location in this village is excellent. It is a small village so everything is extremely close. The rooms are very well appointed, and the quality of the furnishings was appropriate. Overall I would highly recommend

Staff was warm and welcoming and very helpful. We had an issue with our room the first night and they quickly made it possible to shift rooms. Truly delightful staff who work hard to make guest feel welcome.
