그랜드 호텔 미라마레(Grand Hotel Miramare)

The Grand Hotel Miramare was our favorite hotel during our 12 day tour of Italy. We came toward the end of their season so it was much less crowded. Our travel agent booked the hotel for us so we were not aware that this town basically shuts down at the end of October. The hotel is beautiful and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The weather was not great during our stay and one of our tours was cancelled. We were able to get to the other towns and do our own tour with the help of the front desk. Another reviewer complained that there were no taxis. That seems to be the case. And if you want to hire one, it is expensive. The ferry closed down during our stay because of the weather so we walked the 45 minutes to Portofino (there is an easy bus option available too). It was a gorgeous walk. And to get to Cinque Terre, we walked to the train station (15 minutes from the hotel) and took the train there. The town of Santa Margherita is nice and quaint. Maybe because we came late in the season or maybe because of the weather, but we found a lot of the restaurants closed. We had great meals in Portofino and Vernazza so it's great to explore the neighboring towns. We also ate 2 dinners at the hotel's restaurant. While a little more expensive, it was amazing food and fantastic service. And their pastry chef is impressive as well. From the morning pastries to the dessert, it was all delicious. Because of the time of year we came, we didn't have the opportunity to take advantage of the pool area. Highly recommend this hotel.

Weekend fuori porta coccolati dal personale accogliente e professionale dello staff dell' Hotel Miramare a Santa Margherita Ligure, a due passi da Portofino. Colazione ottima e ristorante che spazia dai grandi classici italiani a piatti gourmet dal carattere eclettico e al contempo equilibrato.  Attenzione al senza glutine ed a tutte le restrizioni alimentari che i clienti possono presentare. Nota di elogio ai dolci fatti in casa, anche con proposte vegan e gluten free. Il soggiorno è stato un vero piacere, torneremo alla prima occasione! 

Drop dead gorgeous hotel on the Italian Riviera. The staff was wonderful and welcoming. The hotel is a grande dame of Liguria and has been beautifully maintained with every luxury. Terrific food and cocktails. Lively Santa Margherita is at your doorstep and filled with fantastic restaurants. Perfect base for exploring Liguria. I hope we can return someday!

Absolutely amazing! Everything about this hotel is simply perfect and beautiful! The location, The rooms, the garden, the decor, the dining room, the breakfast, the staff…I could go on and on. I can not wait to return and highly recommend this beautiful establishment to anyone visiting Santa Margherita de Ligure

A clear 10/10. This hotel is truely exceptional, from the decor, front desk, restaurant and room staff. Every need is taken care of. If you are looking for a hotel that harps back to the glory days of 1950s and 60s Hollywood glamour, this is the place for you. I particularly liked the nostalgic photos and Emilio Pucci Bean bag ( I want that!). Thanks so much MIrimare team for making my stay so memorable. I hope to be back one day.

Ci siamo trovati bene. Bene il pranzo a bordo piscina. Bene la location. Bene la cena. Camera molto bella con vista mare (impagabile). Personale molto attento e preparato. Grazie Lugi per il cavatappi. I colori, il mare, i profumi, il contesto, abbiamo vissuto una esperienza straordinaria in un tempo ordinario.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Grand Hotel Miramare. Our room was large with a balcony facing the pool and ocean. The sun streaming in the windows with the serene colors of the room was gorgeous. The rooms are beautifully appointed with lovely linens, towels and amenities. Who knew a shoe sponge could make my sneakers look almost brand new. We loved the breakfast and found walking to the train station and Portofino easy and enjoyable. We had cocktails most nights and loved the piano player on the grand patio. We ate dinner one night at the hotel and found the service excellent and the food so-so. Our meals were luke warm and lacking flavor. There are much better restaurants in Santa Magherita Ligure. We would definitely return.

Non mi dilungherò nel descrivere quanto fantastica sia l’esperienza di soggiorno al Miramare perché già nella mia recensione dell’anno scorso l’ho descritto in dettaglio. Voglio però ringraziare il personale che ci ha coccolato in questo soggiorno in cui abbiamo festeggiato il nostro anniversario. Non poteva esserci modo migliore di trascorrere questi giorni.

We have stayed at numerous hotels throughout Italy and we still love hotel Miramare (this was our second stay). The location of the hotel is great. An easy walk to the town or to the beach (right across the street.) Our only suggestion would be to better trim the bushes near the sidewalk. The sidewalk is very skinny and it is difficult to walk with the bushes overhanging the walk way. The room was large, comfortable and clean. The terrace with the view of the garden has a nice sun screen so it could be enjoyed all times of the day. The shining star at the hotel was the service. The front desk staff, bar staff and pool staff were attentive and helpful. The front desk assisted us with making dinner reservations, transfer arrangements and directions. I never felt like we were bothering them…they always greeted us warmly. The pool was wonderful. The salt water was clean and the pool is large. There are tons of loungers and you could pick any ones you wanted. We loved the private beach club just across the street where hotel guests are treated like movie stars. The hotel is expensive and the food is very pricey…but an early evening cocktail on the front portico while listening to the piano player play all night - looking at the beautiful ocean view…..honestly, that is priceless.
