We choose this property because of the location being so close to people we were visiting. In retrospect, that was a dumb decision in a city as small as San Marcos. You can get to just about anything in less thal 15 minutes. There are so many problems with this property that we will never return. For starters, the location is terrible. When you exit, you can only go east or south! If you want to go north, you have to go on to 35 frontage road to find a decent underpass to get you into San Marcos or onto 35, which is under construction. To go west, you have to go under 35 and make a u turn to go north--through two interstate stoplights. Going south on the frontage road takes you miles out of your way! There is no breakfast offered. The help at the front desk is minimal at best. The television is not functioning when you get to your room--you have to get help to get it launched. When you do, there is no TV menu in the room and then the search for channels is just that--A SEARCH! The AC unit is a noisy through the wall unit. The room is built for business travelers-- not weekend guests. The beds are made and sheets are changed weekly--not daily. The room had paint issues. The clean towels are just stacked on the sink! The ”maid” did not leave new coffee packs or new bar soap. The closet is built for men's clothes-- not for woman's dresses. There is no place to hang a long dress! The art work is basically the same print all over the hotel. Parking is tight. The only good feature was a comfortable bed. For the price--over $200 a night, you can get far better accomodations elsewhere
