I absolutely loved staying here and it exceeded my expectations, especially the views! It is a beautiful, quaint guesthouse that feels very safe and peaceful. It was such a perfect retreat and I want to make a trip back to Salzburg just to stay here. The rooms are simple but very clean and the beds were comfortable. It felt very homey, like I was staying at a family member's house. I loved walking around the property. The only concern was that with the snow, the road to drive up gets icy, and at night I did choose to take a taxi back up each night from town rather than the elevator from the modern art museum (I was a solo traveler, didn't want to be walking alone in the woods in the dark) but in the summer when it's light out late, it should be fine.

The hotel is right up on a hill overlooking the city of Saltzburg. there is a lot of walking and steps up and down. The hotel is set in the most beautiful grounds; quiet, peaceful and tranquil. Thete is the main hotel and the two other blocks of accommodation. On arrival, find a parking space in the sections for parking and leave your car there. There’s a buzzer at the entrance for you to contact receptionist who will buzz you in. This is where you enter your little bit of oasis. Birds, trees, lawns, views. Receptionist helpful and friendly. House 3, room 1: simple but ideal room. Clean, cool and comfortable. Bathroom with shower, towels and shower gel. No coffee or tea provided in room. Free internet. Views lovely. Free map from reception along with the information on way down and up from town. put walking shoes or trainers on. We walked down and got lift back up. Wecwrre lucky as there were two lift passes spare from previous guests, but it wasn’t expensive and definitely worth it after walking around the city all afternoon and evening. beds very comfortable. Very useful guide notes in the room folder. Breakfast in the main house, sitting out on the terrace absolutely fabulous. lovely older gentleman walking round asking if all was well and gives you a chocolate Mozart golden ball.

Wenn der Empfang meine Toilette reinigt und die Reinigung es ignoriert, dann muss der Manager gehen. Der außergewöhnliche tolle Mitarbeiter hat die Bakterien selbstständig mit Reinigungsmitteln gereinigt, nachdem wir den schwarzen und gelben Dreck gemeldet haben. Wo bleibt das Gesundheitsamt???? Dieser jungen Mann hat alles versucht um unser Wohlbefinden zu garantieren. Wenn dieser Hotelleiter weiter diesen Bakterien Dampfer leitete ist das eine Schande für Salzburg. Bitte niemals Zimmer 118, 117 usw nehmen. Tür ist nicht Lärmabweisend und führt zum Frühstücks- und Seminarraum. Die älteren Gäste müssen ab 7 Uhr sich lautstark verständigen. Die Lage und der tolle Frühstück Service rettet den Punkt.

Lage am Mönchsberg ist top, vor dem Fenster weiden die Kühe, ins Zentrum kommt man nach einem kurzen Spaziergang mit dem Aufzug oder auf die andere Seite zu Fuß direkt zum Müllnbräu (oder wieder zurück vom Müllnbräu...) Zimmer einfach, zweckmäßig und sauber. Frühstückssaal sehr nüchtern, Frühstück ist in Ordnung. Gebäude sind fein erhalten bzw renoviert. Schöner Innenhof mit Garten. Kapelle. Parkplätze sind zwar gratis, aber begrenzt vorhanden. Ein Ausbruch aus der Hotelnorm, für einen Kurzaufenthalt in der Stadt Salzburg ideal.
