We went to Ile d'Oleron for the day and it was lovely. Whilst looking for a recommenden antique dealer on the quai in St. Trojan les Bains, we found the Homard Blue terrace next door and quickly reserved for lunch. The daily menu was great; very fresh oysters, moules eclat (BBQ's mussels) and a nice dessert. Very reasonably priced. The waitress was kind and we enjoyed our unexpected lunch at le Homard Blue very much. Will go again.

Excellent seaside hotel.. amazing sea views, super comfortable bed, luxurious bedding & big fluffy white towels.. excellent restaurant at the hotel but we also loved the 15 minute walk along the promenade to the quaint port & other restaurants… we booked for 3 night but stayed 5!!

Fantastic location and view. Room small (we booked a prestige room) but adequate. Restaurant closed for two of our three nights stay - there is absolutely no information on their website as to opening/closing times. Breakfast fine. Proprietors miserable. Madame gave us a brusque welcome and recommended an alternate restaurant miles away and rated 43/44 in that town! During our visit she kept asking our name (only perhaps 10 couples staying and we were the only English) and speaking to us in English as though we were children. I speak French. After our one dinner - booked with madame under our name and room number - monsieur almost chased us through the hotel as we hadn’t signed the bill which was never given to us. Again we were treated like naughty children. No goodbye or thanks. On balance, there are other hotels nearby with an equally nice location and view. It wouldn’t be hard to find nicer proprietors.

C'est un hôtel fantôme, nous n'avons pas vu le personnel une seule fois,ils ont oublié de nous envoyer les modaliteset les codes par email : compliqué pour prendre possession de la chambre, après un voyage de 5h, on perd patience......... .

Une vrai inventivité. Le homard en brioche vaut vraiment le détour, ainsi que la glace au roquefort. Encore quelques effort pour dépasser le niveau d’un restau pas cher pour touristes ( ce qui semblerait tout à fait légitime) en enrichissant la carte des vins, en améliorant la qualité de service, peut être le décor, et en revenant sur cette mauvaise habitude d’envoyer les clients payer au bar, ce qui se comprends pour un restau ouvrier ou un burger, mais moins pour un restaurant qui se voudrait gastronomique.

La gestion de l'hôtel et restaurant sont séparés. Du site, on a la vue au large sur le pont qui fait la liaison avec l'île. Chambre propre, salle d'eau minuscule, lit très confortable, mal insonorisé avec l'étage supérieur, surtout si la personne du dessus est bruyante. Petits déjeuner à 16€/personne. Restaurant excellent Tare-tare d'huitres exceptionnel, agneau (un peu léger), dessert chocolat excellent. Service je pense un peu fatigué car pas du tout du niveau des prestations de la cuisine, pain arrive en fin de repas, après plusieurs demandes, rien n'est servi avec les cocktails ..
