킹 호텔 텐터든(King Hotel Tenterden)

Never stayed here before although have dined in the restaurant before. First impressions were visually more like a Motel than a Hotel, but very clean and obviously fairly new with a spacious, gravelled car park. You enter into a very clean looking reception area with polished tile floors. Upon arriving (As has been mentioned in a previous review) we were met by an empty reception desk but were soon greeted by a member of staff and fairly quickly escorted to our room. I should point out that all the staff we encountered were very polite and accommodating. Our room was top floor at the back of the Hotel and was quite spacious and, again, clean and tidy with tea and coffee making facilities, AND a small fridge (Which made “She who must be obeyed” very happy) Shower was small (for me anyway) but more than adequate and the bed was very comfortable. We didn’t have any major gripes at all to be honest just minor ******* such as the sink plug wouldn’t stay down so we couldn’t fill the sink (I didn’t report it until we were leaving as I’d got so used to it…sorry) the only real issue is the sound from the water pipes when they’re in use around the Hotel by residents or possibly laundry? They are seriously loud tbh, especially at 02:00-03:00 in the morning (it woke me up and the noises suggested it may have been laundry?) This all said we enjoyed our stay, the staff as said earlier were very polite and accommodating and the place is well situated for a lot of sightseeing. We would certainly stop again

Had an operation booked for the 9/5/24 and live quite a long way from Benenden hospital so decided to stay in a hotel close to the hospital which was the King Hotel. On arriving the car park was unmade with lots of puddles & trip hazards, on entering the room it didn't look too bad although a little update wouldn't have gone amiss, we tried to put the heating on, it didn't come so I went to reception & the guy came to try & resolve it, he couldn't so he brought in a small radiator heater, he came back again & managed to get it on (not a good start) the walls were so thin, next door had the tv on & were talking really loud I could not sleep so went next door (by now 12.45) no light outside door & scrapped my ankle down the concrete step, I asked them politely if they could be more quiet, they did turn the tv down but it was still loud & I never slept a wink, in the morning, the shower was cold. Had to go to the hospital & an operation, tired & cold. Bed was hard, only one pillow. Not impressed, would have relayed this to the staff but could not find anyone in the morning even though kept pressing the bell, so left the key on the bed. A bad experience!

This hotel has clearly just been refurbished, it’s done to a really high standards the rooms are really well presented and comfortable. As soon as I arrived the service was brilliant, they can’t do enough for you. I met a client at the Indian restaurant which is literally next door. That was a brilliant meal and again brilliant service I thoroughly recommend. I had good Wi-Fi too, so could log on and work without issue, overall this is a really nice place and well worth what I paid. Breakfast the following day was really nice, pretty much a full English with some jam & fruit. I would defiantly stay here again if I’m working in the area.

We stayed here for one night in December as we were going to the Big Cat Sanctuary and wanted to stay nearby. In terms of value for money - this was the cheapest hotel in the area so can’t really complain about the cost. With that said, I had a terrible nights sleep, the bed was rock hard and only had one pillow each provided. I woke up with a sore back feeling the opposite of rested. Not what you want when you’re about to spend 8 hours following a ranger at a cat sanctuary! We were given a room next to reception which doesn’t allow for much privacy at all, especially considering the owners seemed to be having a family meeting of 10+ people on the reception couches which were right outside our front door! Room was tiny, to the extent that the door of the toilet hits the bed and doesn’t open fully. This place was purpose built as a hotel so not sure why the measurements are clearly off! Not many places locally that deliver food, we did manage to find somewhere but you’re very limited if you don’t want an Indian! Overall we wouldn’t stay again, we’d spend a little more for somewhere better!

Our second stay at kings. The staff are amazing and are so helpful, the rooms are beautifully decorated , great facilities and I highly recommend their Indian and elvis nights. For value for money and entertainment it won’t be beaten ! We had the best night!

Great location and a lovely family run Hotel and restaurant. The owners were so accommodating, lovely room . All the amenities required too . We ate at the Indian restaurant attached to the hotel . As mentioned really was one of the nicest Indian meals I had eaten . Highly recommend and will be booking again in the future Thank you

Good location for wedding guest accommodation, however not the best of stays. Rooms were okay, but bedding was rock solid! Bright green emergency light which lights up the whole room making it impossible to sleep. Paid for breakfast baskets, they were the biggest waste of money. Delivered to us at 11pm the night before. Stale croissant and old, battered fruit. Wouldve bought our own had we known. Biggest issue was the bathroom. It contained a heated towel rack which we could not adjust the heat on, and it was super hot! You could smell the heat of it. The bathrooms are tiny and the toilet right next to towel rack, even being careful it was hard to avoid. I accidentally knocked my arm on the towel rack and have been left with a burn! Not ideal and definitely not safe, would be concerned for anyone touching this but especially small children!
