The Rising Sun has a great atmosphere and we found all the staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely, well furnished and the bed was so comfortable. We had breakfast each morning which was really well cooked and piping hot. Two evenings we had dinner here and were impressed with the choice on the menu and again all was well cooked. The rooms and restaurant were spotlessly clean. thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Perfect stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. We were in huge room with very comfortable bed, lots of extras and the decor was excellent. We were very impressed. Even raincoats left for our use if needed! Food very good and public car park nearby. Restaurant overlooked the harbour and convenient for shops and the ferry to Falmouth. Will definitely be returning and telling our friends. Thank you to all the staff.

Had breakfast here as a non resident! Brilliant full English. Very clean and lovely surroundings, staff friendly and very welcoming.

Spent a night here on business. Stayed in Room 1 which was a standard double. Very large space with desk, TV, iron, board, fridge, tea/coffee facilities and shower. The room looked like it had been newly refurbished, very smart. Bed was comfortable and room very pleasant. Breakfast the following day was superb. Ideal location on the harbourfront in St Mawes. No parking on site but large public car park nearby with reasonable charges.

The room was spotless and the bed was amazing had the best night sleep for a long time. The food was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. If you want a relaxing night away I highly recommend There a nice shops and cafes close by with some good local goods and plus the car park is very reasonable.

Unfortunately we only had one night at this wonderful inn. We were greeted and made to feel very welcome from the moment we got there. Our room was perfect with lots of luxury item’s provided. We felt very comfortable indeed. The breakfast was top notch and plenty of it. If I had one tiny criticism I felt the dinner menu was a bit limited on choice. That said we enjoyed what we ordered which was made to a high standard. Thank you all for a wonderful time. 🤩

Had a relaxed sojourn. Staff are fantastic. Will ask for the same room when probably return in October. Ate in each evening, food very good. The best we have had at a St Austell hotel in Cornwall . Hopefully in October the ferry will run to Falmouth as it did nt Saturday telling us it was foggy even though from 9 30 one could see Pendennis Castle.

There are some lovely extra touches that you wouldn’t necessarily expect - dryrobes to borrow, a stamped postcard to send home, great biscuits, a nespresso machine and quality teabags - all these things add up plus quality food for breakfast and dinner. Thoroughly recommend.

St Mawes is absolutely lovely! When we arrived at The Rising Sun we were offered a free upgrade to Room 9 which was absolutely gorgeous! It had everything we needed and more. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent and we had a great choice, nothing was too much trouble. George & Meg are a great asset, very friendly! We would definitely stay again.
