The Chateau Saint Gilles is a superb hotel, based on its staff, rooms, food, and location. First, the staff, Margaux, Violaine, and Barbara, are multi-lingual customer-facing professionals, who are charming, helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile. The owners, Anne-Sophie & Emerick, are attentive, delightful, and hospitable. Second, the rooms are immaculate, well-provisioned, with very comfortable beds. Third, the food is first class. Cooked by consummate professionals, Frederic & cheery Francois, the variety, presentation, and taste are second to none. Lastly the location of the chateau is tremendous, as it sits centrally for the D-Day battlefields, and is surrounded by the main cultural and historical centres of Normandy. We stayed here for seven nights, and will now return next year.
