Hotel and restaurant were superb. Great service - nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely visit again. Super place for car clubs. Good secure parking for collector cars. Very friendly staff who speak good English.

An extremely disappointing stay..and from the most expensive hotel on our whole French trip…the quality of the bedroom was basic (think Ibis), the shower wasn’t clean, there was one small bottle of water and no tea/coffee in the room. The communal areas were very good and the restaurant was good. The owner was argumentative. I had specifically checked in writing prior to arrival that the hotel had indoor secure bike storage. I had a written reply confirming they did ..but they didn’t! After quite a long argument the end solution was the owner taking our bikes to her personal accommodation. To try and rectify the situation an apology note and nice bottle of sparkling rose was sent to our room …but I’m afraid the damage was done..I will never return and will never recommend the hotel as a place to stay…

Heartily recommend this hotel where we stayed for two nights and had a fabulous room overlooking the town square. Good and friendly service, and exceptional food, amounted to an experience that will have left lots of positive memories. There is a small pool at the rear, where you can relax for an hour or two and the Abbey - main visitor attraction - is on your doorstep. Small quibble would be that when you choose to order off a set dinner which was part of our deal you get charged the full price (on top of what you’ve already paid for the set meal) rather than the difference in price between the set and a la carte item. This was probably explained on the menu in fairness and I didn’t notice it but it seemed a bit excessive particularly as the set option didn’t change over the two nights. But that aside this is a lovely place to stay.

Another enjoyable return visit to this location, where we were looked after exceptionally well by the proprietors and all the staff. A great centre for exploring and enjoying the Loire Valley with all its Chateaux and vineyards. Situated right next door to Fontevraud Royal Abbey , which is a "must visit".

A reasonably big hotel. Our room was in an outbuilding and was quite warm, although a good size and very pleasant. Breakfast was served in a room that was very much a hotel dining room and lacked atmosphere. Dinner, however, was served in the attached restaurant and was nice. There was a good sized seating area outside, either within the hotels grounds or outside the restaurant in the main square.

The reception staff were super helpful before and during our stay, advising us how to get to the hotel from the nearest train station (and recommending a cab company since they needed to be ordered in advance). We were warmly welcomed and super pleased with our rooms, which were beautiful, modern, well thought-out and very comfortable. The lounge areas were cozy and reflected the historic building that houses the hotel. Our dinner in the peaceful courtyard linking the hotel with its adjoining restaurant was delicious, and the service friendly. The breakfast buffet next morning was extensive and included cook-your-own soft-boiled eggs and the best croissants, plus (house-made?) lox salmon. The only downside was that the hot weather required us to sleep with our windows open. Unfortunately, this subjected us to the noise from the restaurant kitchen as the staff finished tidying up after closing. If we'd been able to keep our windows closed, it wouldn't have been an issue. Other than that, I can't say enough good things about this delightful hotel.

Right outside of the gates of the fontevraud abbey,good service and selection of food open all day,35degrees on are visit so hotel very warm especially on 2 nd floor ,water ,fan,and light sheet supplied for sleeping,car parking right on site,and free.

Lovely to renew our acquaintance with this hotel (third or fourth visit). The location remains incomparable - and the car park elusive (although the signage is much improved). The standard rooms are showing their age a bit now in terms of decor and amenities, and we wished we had gone for one of the upgraded offerings - not least after lugging our suitcases up two sets of stairs (no lifts). Other reviewers have commented on the absence of air-conditioning etc., but we knew what to expect. Breakfast and Dinner were as fine as we had remembered. Still recommendable.

We were a group of 40 in pre-war cars. Great location in a very historic village and easy parking. Comfortable rooms and good public areas. Very efficient and helpful staff, well able to cope with a variety of guests.
