Crug Glas Country House

On a recent trip to Ireland our ferry was diverted to leave from Fishguard rather than Holyhead. Determined to turn a negative to a positive we decided to use the opportunity to explore St,David’s. Although we had to leave early in the morning the host Janet was so accommodating and offered to cook breakfast at 7am to ensure we could enjoy the full experience. We also had a wonderful,dinner the prior evening, when Janet and her wonderful husband hosted an excellent meal, opening the restaurant just for us on a stormy winter night. Our room was actually a suite (room2) with a huge bathroom and roll top bath. The views are stunning. A real sense of luxury. As a real bonus the hotel has electric car charging at a reasonable cost. This reflects the country house with an environmental conscience, and luxury service ethos. A gem of a place, worth a visit in its own right.

We had a lovely 3-day break at Crug Glas this week and couldn’t have had better care and attention. Our room was large with every need catered for. If we you’re looking to be well fed this is the place to come. Excellent menu and beautifully prepared meals and, this is a biggy for us, a plentiful and well cooked, hot breakfast.
