Overall it is a solid 4.5 star hotel and experience. The location is unbeatable, with breath-taking beach and sea view just off the front desk, as well as our beach room. The beach room is highly recommended for someone into the ocean view. The facility and staff are great. The Mercado even sells medicine (we got Gasvicon) which my wife could use the day we were there. The only downside that makes it not a full 5 star is that the room, decoration, and furniture are a bit outdated.

Fantastic Family Stay at Martinhal Sagres Resort! We had an absolutely amazing family holiday at Martinhal Sagres Resort! The location is simply breathtaking, with stunning ocean views from our villa. The resort is incredibly well-equipped for families, especially for those traveling with young children. We opted for the half-board option, and the food was exquisite—the grilled fish was a highlight! Parents can truly relax while the kids enjoy their own menu and have fun with colouring or LEGO activities during meals. Breakfast was also a delight, offering a wide variety of options and a spectacular ocean view to start the day. Even in winter, there’s plenty to do! The indoor heated swimming pool was a lifesaver, and a special shoutout to Thiago for his fantastic toddler swimming class. We also want to thank Pooja, Jay, Nuno, Quincy, and Amrit for their warm welcome at The Dunes Restaurant, as well as Melissa, Joana, and Manuella for making the kids' experience so special. Other kids activities include the trampoline, splash pool, and fun activities. Horse riding was another highlight. Our villa was tastefully decorated and had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The only downside is that the resort is quite far from the airport, and having a car is essential for exploring the area—but honestly, you can’t have it all! Highly recommend Martinhal Sagres Resort for families looking for a luxurious yet kid-friendly getaway!

We had an incredible stay at Martinhal hotel. We booked the Ocean View House which is truly well equipped, comfortable and a very spacious living room with breathtaking views. The fact you can preorder kids equipment such as toilet seat, steps etc makes such a difference! During our entire stay we were blown away by the service, with such a family friendliness atmosphere. High chairs are ready at each table so you don’t need to request it each time for breakfast or diner. The food was exceptional: specially for diner, the Dunas restaurant is unforgettable. The quality of the fish with traditional recipes or grilled is like no other. In addition the kids corner is definitely really well thought, kids can do colouring while you continue your diner. The kids menu was also really well thought with quality ingredients and preparation. Thank you Nuno, Amrit, Pooja, Quincy, Jay and the rest of the team. Lastly kids facilities are great: two playgrounds in different locations as well as an indoor pool for when traveling off season. Our daughter also attended the kids club which was very well equipped and the staff was great: thank you Joanna, Melissa, Manuela and the rest of the team. Thank you Martinhal for making our stay relaxing and memorable! We will be back!

After our late arrival, we decided to get our bearings the next day, the resort was bigger than we thought and had to be walked around in stages. The paths and gardens are immaculate as was the reception area. The kids play area and cafe facilities were good as was the service. All equipment like table tennis, air hockey, pool table, games consoles excellent. Quality of the food at the main pool and play area also excellent. Restaurant upstairs from reception clean tidy, staff pleasant and food reasonable but a bit pricey. Have to pay for quality I suppose. All four pools were open as was the crazy golf which needed to be better marked and access to the course via a proper route would be beneficial, walking across the gardeners watering system not good and course badly marked although enjoyable. Massage was booked and enjoyed by my wife, weather in November was pleasant and the villa we had was clean and tidy with spectacular views towards the beach. We drove to the beach area where the beach restaurant was and it was closed, the area around there needed some TLC. The walk ways at the front of the restaurant were in a bad state of repair. During our week there was building work taking place during that time which made it a bit noisy when sitting on the villa veranda. This was our first time at a resort like this, should we think of visiting again it wouldn’t be in November where facilities or few and far between, also a rental car is a requirement for exploring the area. We were heading to the sand sculptures when the heavens opened, so we decided to cancel our trip and head back to the resort. Definitely ideal for parents with young families but not so good for elderly guests. We cut our holiday short in the end and headed home, this was nothing to do with the resort, it was a choice that we made as a family.

Great resort, beautiful location and very pleasant stuff Rooms are very spacious Great spa and sports In general the stay was very pleasant and if I have more time I would like to stay longer for sure. Breakfast was very good with a big variety. Recommended
