Lovely local pub, Good vibes, good food and value for money. The landlords very welcoming and the staff very friendly. The Wednesday Pizza and the Sunday roast dinner highly recommend. A real traditional English Pub. The salt caramel ice-cream with expresso it's amazing 😋🍦

This place advertises as a bed and breakfast, charges like a bed and breakfast and it's not until you get to your room that you find a laminated note informing you that there's no breakfast served on the premises. The Horse & Cart Inn used to be brilliant but it's now under new management and things have changed, on Trivago the good reviews stop at 2022. We arrived for Sunday lunch (which was fine) and didn't appreciate finding out that we would have to drive elsewhere for breakfast only after we had paid. What made it worse is that we had a completely sleepless night due to the room being too hot with an inadequate tower fan, were not able to make ourselves a coffee in the morning because the room had a broken coffee machine and no tea because 'a member of staff is allergic to tea'. So we had to drive off on no sleep and no coffee, which is potentially dangerous. And no, we couldn't have bought hot drinks at the bar as there was nobody on the premises by mid morning when the guests are asked to leave. Won't return, what a shame.

Tonight, I had their ribeye steak meal. This, without doubt, was one of the best steaks I have had anywhere. Cooked exactly as requested and so tender it melted in my mouth. Thank You Chef. Treat yourself when you're next in the area. Highly recommended.

Really lovely, friendly pub. We were warmly welcomed into the pub which was tastefully decorated and furnished with a wonderful ambience and a superb secluded back garden. The young gentleman behind the bar was very helpful and we ordered a pizza from the pizza oven. Both the beer and a pizza were absolutely first notch and we had a lovely afternoon there - we also met some nice locals. To add further, we also met the landlady who was really lovely and who helped us out with a challenge we had, she certainly went above and beyond what we were expecting. So I would highly recommend this pub and in my opinion, this is the best pub in Peasmarsh.

Really a nice PUB in the middle of a calm small village. The staff its the most friendly. Good food, options to vegetarian. Recommend the garden. really a nice spot to relax, drink something and chat a little in the end of the day. Highly recommend

Reviewing the pub & restaurant. We stayed in a holiday cottage very nearby. The Inn is by far the cleanest, friendliest and most welcoming pub we discovered during our week in the Peasmarsh area. No loud music, tv, games machines. Just good food, pleasant surroundings and very nice people. Thank you Carly & Phil. Good luck. Bob, Val & Marley

From the welcome to the check out this one night stay was perfect. Room was very comfortable and quiet. Food - dinner and breakfast - was superb. Service fantastic. We think they do have music nights so not sure how quiet it would be then but check before you book. We would not hesitate to book again and recommend.

Booked as a treat as we wanted to get to know the area. The reviews were good which encouraged me to choose as a 2 night getaway. We were greeted by Theo our host who made us feel welcome very quickly. The Inn has a nice atmosphere and our room (#3) was clean and had a nice feel. The en suite bathroom was large with a shower and freestanding bath. We ate on the first night at the Inn and the food was tasty and reasonably priced. Theo took the time to explain more details of the food on offer. We were so impressed we decided to eat at the Inn the second night also and again we were not disappointed. We would highly recommend the Horse and Cart Inn if you are looking for a place to stay in the area.

We stayed here just for one night when we visited our son and his family who were staying in a holiday cottage nearby. But we enjoyed it so much we would definitely stay here again. There was a friendly welcome and we were quickly shown to our room. The room was comfortable and pillows just right which is rarely the case. We had a nice en suite with a great shower. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room. Had an enjoyable drink in the pub. Unfortunately our son had already provided dinner as the meals in the pub sounded delicious. In the morning we had the full English breakfast that was perfectly cooked and one of the nicest we have had in a long time (plus we didn't need anything to eat for the rest of the day)! All in all this place is highly recommended.
