Upon arrival, followed directions and signs to toilet block, which turned out were the old toilets that had not been blocked off, went to use the toilet, only to find broken glass, human excrement everywhere. These old toilets, labeled as toilets where very accessable to curious children on the apparently family friendly campsite. Only after going to reception twice we were led to an actual toilet block, of which there were no directions too. These toilets, were better in comparison however still lacked lights and Locks. After finding the one shower with a light and a functioning lock, I was shocked by how unclean this shower was, leaving feeling more dirty than before my shower. All facilities Broken, dangerous and unclean. Reception staff were unfriendly and rude, with the exception of one young lady. The wifi was near impossible to find and connect to Overall a gross and heavily disappointing experience

Ik verbleef 6 nachten in dit hotel voor bezoek aan Rome en de Ryder Cup. Het enige minpunt dat ik kan vermelden is dat het hotel een stukje buiten het centrum ligt en in de onmiddellijke omgeving ervan niets te vinden is van horeca of winkels. Verder niets dan positiefs over dit hotel : een mooie kamer met moderne uitrusting en elke dag perfect onderhouden, behulpzame receptie, een prima restaurant. en het voordeel van het nadeel is dat het hotel in een heel rustige en groene buurt ligt. Het dient ook gezegd dat er behalve taxi's, die redelijk prijzig zijn, ook een busverbinding is die u in 20 minuten naar het centrum brengt voor 1,5 euro.

I’m here now and it’s legitimately the worst hotel I’ve ever been to in my life. I’ve stayed at motels, hostels, airbnbs, all the way up to 5 star hotels — literally nothing compares to the level of deception, negligence, disorganization, and grossness of Villa Laetitia. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Most of their rooms are not shown on their site. They’re actually positioned directly adjacent to a highway, and there’s no soundproofing, lol. I was moved to a room in the back of the hotel and I still hear the cars outside my room (I wish I could post a sound recording) — although now I also hear the birds in the morning, which is nice. My safe was broken in my (second) room, so I gave the front desk my passports while I went out and they fixed it. The front desk and I agreed that they’d keep the passports there and I’d pick them up once I got back. When I returned, there was a different person at the desk who told me the safe had been fixed but had no clue where my passports were, or that they were even given to the front desk to keep. Turns out the front desk had passed them on to the maintenance/bellhop to put in the safe. It’s in a sketchy, desolate area, with broken bottles and piss everywhere. I grew up in downtown Manhattan — I’m not unaccustomed to garbage and housing insecure people. This, however, is unlike anywhere else in Rome I’ve been. Usually it feels super safe walking down tiny alleys in Rome. Here, I was on the biggest and ‘busiest’ street, and was genuinely afraid. Avoid Room 103, which has the grossest sweetest most overpowering smell that instantly gave me a headache and literally made me vomit within thirty minutes of arriving. I immediately opened all my windows, to no avail. The staff did nothing to help, lol. I only changed rooms because at 5:30 AM I asked for help — it was so loud and I thought I had closed my windows incorrectly — and then they showed me a room in the back of the hotel, which is where I am now. I packed up and moved my things at 5:30 AM, carrying my bags and suitcase an everything across the hotel and up the few stairs to the new room alone. The one I’m in now is a drab room and there is not a single piece of art or any personalized details in the rooms, but thankfully that god awful smell is gone, plus it’s somewhat quieter than the first room. I feel so stupid, because once I vomited on my first night, I suggested I switch hotels, and was told that nothing could be done because I had booked a non refundable room. I should have eaten the price and just moved somewhere (literally anywhere) else. The hotel refers to the “non refundable rate” at any point they can, lol. I booked the morning before arriving, and bookings can’t be modified or canceled within 48 hours, so I was TOLD that I should book the non refundable rate (since it was essentially the same as the flexible rate). I’m literally still here — writing from the hotel bed — and feel like I’m being gaslit that everything is wonderful and dand
