First of all the staff are really nice and couldn’t really complain about them. Now the negatives this is certainly not a 4* hotel more of a 2*. The pictures on the website are very misleading which shouldn’t be allowed. We stayed in room 222 very basic with no facilities to make a drink in your room but does have a fridge that is stocked up we didn’t use the drinks in there but did buy our own and put them in. The room was very basic and had 2 single beds pushed together which really annoys me and find very uncomfortable some of the lights also did not work . The air con / heating switch did not work either. Wardrobe to hang clothes with a few hangers in with 2 draws. There was a small tv on the wall not that we watched it very much. Bathroom was ok and just ok not great if you’re on the larger side for the shower as this is very small. Breakfast was ok for a quick snack and drink before heading out it was continental with drink machines. We where woken at 6am everyday with the noise from the truck outside delivering to the hotel so very noisy when unloading full metal cages. Stairs in the hotel are not great not wide enough and very steep there is one lift for the hotel which you can get two people in at a time. We didn’t complain at the hotel as reading the reviews the rooms were all the same. I did contact easy jet before we went to try to change the hotel which they said we could Do but every hotel was full the only option we had was to change the destination which was not an option. Hotel is around 30 min stroll to the main attractions. First time in Rome and would go back but definitely not to this hotel. We booked through easy jet and for the price we payed I was very disappointed email sent to easy jet.

We checked in here as part of our 4 night family trip to Rome with BA Holidays. We rang BA, who after an explanation about the condition of the place, were happy to move us the following day. Just don't do it. Very tired to say the very least. Broken, mis matched and knackered furniture. Put- you- up beds, advertised as a quad room. They couldn't even give us a second (flat) pillow!!! Just avoid

Very helpful and friendly staff which makes all the difference when you're only staying overnight. They helped make sure out taxi came for us. Public areas are very comfortable with a good sized bar. As there were 3 of us we had a bigger room at the front which had a balcony. There was lots of storage space and comfortable beds. We also ate our evening meal there outside at the front. Great for people watching and the food was tasty, good quality and inexpensive. Close to bus stops and handy for the Spanish Steps. An enjoyable stay. When we next visit Rome we'll certainly try and book this hotel.

Booked as part of a package but not what we were expecting for a 4* hotel experience as more like a standard 3* based on our previous stays in Rome and visits to other European cities. The location is in a quiet road with lots of embassies and offices, but it proved to be a bit far out for us as we have usually stayed more centrally so we ended up taking lots of taxis as struggling with walking at the moment - lesson learnt to research better and not rely on the general write-ups as it is certainly not "just behind Via Veneto and the Spanish Steps". The rooms we had were next to each other as requested, but our son struggled to fit in his corner shower cubicle and our shower over the bath fitting kept spinning around and sliding down the pole - mentioned twice during our stay but nothing fixed. Our room also had a step down from the bedroom to access the bathroom and a big step up to the toilet and bath so we kept lights on during the night as were concerned about tripping in unfamiliar surroundings. The rooms certainly need better soundproofing as we could hear everything in the bathroom from the room next door which was right next to our bed and woke us regularly during our stay and the wooden flooring meant that everything echoed around the room - mentioned at Reception, but not really acknowledged. As for the bed, it was so uncomfortable that we even considered moving hotels - the mattress was lumpy and we could feel every move we made during the night. I asked for a softer pillow only to get another hard one and when I mentioned it again at Reception, got an indifferent shrug. Our room was only cleaned once during our 4 night stay as we were in our rooms getting ready to head out for the day when they came to service them so we asked them to come back later, but assume they have a schedule and couldn't fit us in as they were just left? It would be nice to have tea and coffee making trays in the room and proper glasses rather than small plastic disposable ones. All in all, we enjoyed our visit to the lovely city of Rome, but would certainly have preferred more comfortable hotel accommodation so will be staying elsewhere when we return.

Canera al secondo piano, lungo i corridoi materassi e lettini coperti con lenzuola, a stento si passava con valigia. Scala interna strettissima e anche pericolosa se non si prende l'ascensore. Unica nota positiva la gentilezza del personale.

My partner and I booked to stay at the Oxford Hotel for 4 nights through a reputable travel company as the pictures of the hotel looked amazing and it was advertised as a 4* hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel, our first thoughts of this hotel were that it is very run down, tired looking and had a foul smell throughout. However, after arriving at past midnight, we were tired so checked in and were given directions to our room for our 4-night stay. In bedroom 1, my partner flushed the toilet and upon doing this, the whole shower tray spewed out green gunk which absolutely stank! We immediately went down to reception where we were given a room key for a different room. This room was fine during the night although the beds were like sleeping on a stone, however, when I woke up the next morning, I noticed that the whole bedroom and bathroom had flooded. As I heard other guests flushing toilets and having showers through the thin walls, I observed the shower spew out green gunk and liquid that honestly smelt like urine. My partner and I rushed downstairs to the reception where as this stage we were very fed up. 2 rooms, disgusting! We demanded another room (that was the only solution the hotel team were keen to suggest, as opposed to actually understanding what has happened to the previous 2 inhabitable rooms). Upon going to this third room (honestly at this stage just to shower and get out of there!), we noticed that there was a live electric plug socket exposed by the bathroom that was bright red. Such a fire and electricity hazard is absolutely despicable and the hotel should not be on the travel website for health and safety but also hygiene concerns. We decided to check out of this hotel as it was just horrendous and the travel company that we booked it with were extremely unhelpful at resolving any issues for us. All the Oxford Hotel employee could do was offer us a bottle of wine as compensation which we did not accept. We left this diabolical hotel, which was absolutely nothing what the pictures on the website showed at all, and checked into another 4* hotel that was absolutely amazing and turned our experience of Rome from terrible to amazing for the remaining 3 nights. Please avoid this hotel. There are some major plumbing and health and safety issues going on here.

The hotel has a good location about 15 min walk from the Spanish steps area. Otherwise it isn't deserving the 4 starts ranking it has. Maybe it was appropriate 40 years ago, but the physical condition of the property is very poor. They even didn't have shampoo in the rooms and when we asked for they said they don't have any.
