에레모 델라 지우빌라나(Eremo Della Giubiliana)

Ho trascorso con mia moglie un meraviglioso soggiorno di 3 gg presso l'Eremo. Il personale è disponibile, cortese e preparato; la location è semplicemente favolosa: si nota il rispetto della struttura originaria e della natura circostante. Colazione da 10! Collocazione centrale rispetto a tutti i siti di maggior interesse. Se solo dovessimo muovere un appunto, secondo noi il bagno andrebbe rimodernato pur nel rispetto dell'atmosfera originaria. Ci torneremo sicuramente. P. S.: la fontana araba che attraversa praticamente l'intera struttura meriterebbe di essere studiata nelle facoltà d'ingegneria idraulica!

I stayed nine nights in this Sicilian paradise. Full of history and tranquillity. The goodness of the food and the kindness of Mr Dario in fulfilling my every wish made my trip to Sicily unforgettable. Relaxing by the pool reading my books, all the excursions they offer including the experience on the boat that made me smell the real Sicily. I will gladly return

This is one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in! The vibes were impeccable. We were given a room with a "tower terrace," meaning a third-story that was just an outdoor space! The view was gorgeous, especially during sunrise and sunset. There was also a larger terrace on our bedroom level (second floor). Any sacrifice of modern amenities felt completely worth it. The pool was beautiful and nicely cold. The grounds were so pretty, with little nooks and crannies to walk or read in. The food from the kitchen was fantastic--my favorite breakfasts of the trip, and the one dinner we had there offered a great selection and was delicious. Perhaps my favorite part-- the pets! There is a golden retriever sauntering around who reportedly belongs to the owner. And there was a litter of five kittens! Perfection. They were delightfully social and playful. The staff was helpful and friendly.

This is my second visit here and it only confirms and emphasizes the magic of the place: The hermits really had it good ;) here… Completely renovated while keeping the style and feeling of centuries of good life, having its own food and wine production, staffed by wonderful helpful personnel and having an excellent restaurant on the premises, Don Eusebio, this place will put to shame any of the super expensive and soul-less newer creatings on the island (think Planeta). Pool, bar, laundry service and enchanted premises, they have it all. Not to mention that they are probably the only luxury hotel with private archeological site AND an airplane ***** for private planes! I’m sure we’ll be back.

Hotel decided to hold massive party on lawn immediately outside of our room from 8:30 till midnight with extremely loud music. Night manager was extremely defensive and took no responsibility. He said it was our fault because they informed our Backroads trip leaders less than 24 hour before the party leaving us with no options. I do not recommend coming here. I am also going to strongly recommend that Backroads never use this hospitality venue again,

Awful place. They utilize a bait and switch technique for bookings. Their website as well as all the booking sites advertise rooms at least one category higher than is offered when you get there. I paid for an upgraded room and given a lower category one, they simply changed the name of to room to indicate higher category. The property is very old and smells that way. Grounds maintenance is non existent. The pool is abandoned, green, covered in Algae and mosquito larvae. The pool area is used for the owners dog toilet. It’s in an area a twenty minute drive from town. Nothing around. It’s run by amateurs. It’s advertised as historic. There are many historic properties that have a high level of amenities, maintenance and cleanliness. This property does not. Absolutely not five star. You have to be very suspicious of the way this property is ranked. If not for the historic branding, this is a two star property.

Historic monastery with beautiful lobby, beautiful exterior, good restaurant. Rooms are ok. We appreciated the historic furniture but some of it was just not historic, just old looking. I.e the side bed tables. Bathrooms should be updated as they’re definitely not historic or updated. I would not qualify this hotel as a 5 star one. The restaurant was good. Location is between Ragusa and Ragusa Marina. No walkability. Did not meet my expectations. Compared to other hotels (including historic properties ), I’d give this a 3 star.

This is an old monastery in a very quiet location a few miles from Ragusa but it caters mainly for groups who are given the use of the main dining room whilst non groups such as us had to dine in an old converted cellar. It was very atmospheric in the cellar but it did involve descending a number of granite/marble steps with no hand rails. This proved to be a challenge not just for me but also others including one family with a baby and a pushchair. For our 2nd night dining there an exterior door was opened which enabled access via slightly less steep stairs which I managed with the support of a waiter. We were also told it would be best if we did not go for the excellent buffet breakfast until 8:30am after the group had left. All in all our dining experience took the edge of our stay which otherwise was excellent.
