Royalton Chic Punta Cana an Autograph Collection First impression On approaching the hotel, I didn’t get that wow factor to support the name Chic, which too me means stylish, fashionable and elegant. It was basic. It states that it is a 5* but it is not, the hotel requires a lot of work improvements to the swimming pool, broken tiles everywhere. The Diamond Club roof top pool was appalling chipped concrete stone stairs, tiles and decking broken with holes, old warn out furniture no ambiance, no chic no 5*. The Diamond Club beach side disgusting and should be closed it does nothing to signify you paying extra cost. Diamond to me signifies a ‘high level experience- above standard for first class service’. This hotel was given the name ‘swingers’ not by me but by a staff member. This hotel is known for their foam parties, but they play specific genre of music which entice females to express themselves as if they were at a carnival. I love foam parties when DJ encourages sing a long and fun, but this was not the case. This was more like a 18-30 club. Not an adult Chic Hotel. The room We had picked a Junior Suite but due to my disability had to stay on the ground floor. Not Chic, it is modern comfortable and clean. Good AC, cleaning service was great. Buffet The food was good, some days better than others. Like all holidays, food repetitive, sometimes due to the heat keeping them warm, items appeared over cooked. The only consolation to this is food was served hot. Reviews are correct, the temperature in the buffet room is intense and requires improving. It is totally un-acceptable to expect staff to work in these extreme heat conditions. Only on one occasion did I see a cockroach which I reported immediately. The next day the Buffet section was closed, I am hoping the comments worked. Staff Most staff are friendly, courteous, respectful and will go out their way to ensure that your stay is rememberable. We felt relaxed, welcomed and important. That is a gem that many hotels do not have. Bar staff Wonderful, creative, friendly, polite and happy. They worked collaboratively together producing some signature cocktails. They made the experience so pleasurable and memorable placing their individual spin on their creation of drinks. They remembered your name and greeted you well and remembered your choice of drinks. The two we remembered were Torres and Luis Miguel, but they were all so ‘Good’. Manager Angel, he over delivered, he went out of his way to make our stay pleasurable. He was seen in the restaurants at lunch always checking that we and others were happy. The only manager I saw ensuring the guest were happy. Any concerns we had, he would address and find a solution, every conversation was greeted with a smile. Professionalism was noted at all times with him. Personal concerns we had; he took the time out to find solutions as a manager these qualities are fundamental in retaining guest satisfaction.
