포사다 몰리노 델 칸토(Posada Molino del Canto)

We visited Javier as part of a cycling trip on the Ebro river. His Posada was one of the highlights of the seven places we stayed at. Even though we're not birders, and Javier clearly is, the accommodations were excellent and the food preparation was perfect. Book a birding experience with javier... We'd love to hear about it. Unfortunately Javier did not seem to have much help so we did not meet any other hosts. The bedrooms themselves were unique, very large and divided into two levels, living on bottom, bedroom/bath up. So if you have any problem with stairs, this could be challenging but it made for a very charismatic character filled experience. Our only criticism would be that straight from the posada, it is a grueling climb up about 1500 ft before you get a chance to rest. Of course, this is not the fault of javier. All in all an excellent stay.

An idyllic hideaway in the countryside. A perfect stopover on our cycling holiday. Only wish we had been able to stay longer. Javier and family were perfect hosts and food was amazing. Dinner, breakfast and a picnic lunch. The rooms were so beautifully decorated but with all the practicalities of modern travelers

We were delighted with our accommodation and overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of Javier and Valvonera and their daughter Carlotta. We enjoyed talking to them and learning about the area. They went to great lengths to care for our vegetarian meals which were delicious. Sitting at a shady table besides the Ebro, binoculars to hand was such a wonderful way to unwind. The hills were covered with flowers at the time of our visit (late May) and on the plateau we saw asphodels in their thousands. An amazing sight. Javier is an expert birder and the area around is full of bird life. ( Vultures, eagles, black kites, Montague’s harriers) A day out with Javier is a must! Do go!!

Debo de confesar que iba con miedo por la opinion de caminante 63 y 98, pero desde el minuto 0 el trato fue espectacular de los dueños Javier y Valverde, muy agradables y simpáticos, no comparto para nada la opinion de estos visitantes. El lugar de ensueño a las orillas del Ebro, el desayuno y la cena "CHAPO", todo como muy natural. La ubicacion es perfecta para recorrer la zona incluso se tarda 1 hora 10 minutos al mismo Santander,. Para visitar Orbaneja del Castillo, Frias etc es la ubicacion perfecta. Soy muy especial para los alojamientos y este me gusta mucho.
