팔레 드 마헤 - CGH 얼스(Palais de Mahe - CGH Earth)

房間很大，泳池也夠美，早餐很豐盛，夠新鮮和營養。就是地處中心區，隔壁又在裝修。想要安靜的人可能會失望。不過前台允許提前一天退房，多次溝通後收到退款，贊！

An interesting, half-restored French Colonial hotel. The staff were wonderful, helpful and cheerful. Room was OK, though rather dark, except that we were eaten alive by mosquitoes during the night. (this seemed to happen to everyone on the ground floor, pool level.) Food was nice, excellent chicken & ***go curry for dinner. Breakfast was a bit more confused as most things needed to be ordered from the kitchen. Overall, pleasant.

A boutique property right in the middle of the French Quarter. Nice pool. Decent food. Friendly. Big room. Has a good spa — not fancy but great treatments. If you seek a quiet, high end hotel in Pondicherry, this is your place. Starbucks is next door….

Palais de mahe is like a ritual, it calls you back .. again and again and again. We are regulars but still, there is something new and better every time. This time it was the expanded breakfast menu. Our trip in February was after a hiatus of 8 months, there was some new staff hence. It is a given however for the staff to have a broad smile on their face and be courteous to a fault Over a 3 day stay, we had all our meals were at the restaurant as were all drinks. Lip smacking Fare at a proposition that is luxury but still value for money. When we were leaving, the car had starting problems. We figured that getting it fixed at pondy was wiser. The hotel front desk made a few phone call and viola we had a mechanic who came over and did the necessary repairs .. and all this time we were in comfortable luxury at the restaurant Can’t wait to go back

We had a family reunion last month in Palais de Mahe. It was a wonderful place with exceptional service. We stayed for two nights and the staff were all friendly and smiling . The food was really good and they all sang for my uncle's birthday cake cutting at dinner. It was a nice experience.

Property has no phone network…staff is saying informed to ***agement but nothing is done and water leakages and mosquitoes in property….not even a heritage property…will not recommend at the prices of 26000 per night…the property is having only good location.

We eventually got to bed at 2.30am due to a luggage problem at Kochi/Chennai airports. The hotel arranged for the driver from Chennai airport to wait the five hours for us which was great. We tipped him well, We had booked the terrace suite which is spacious. A sitting area and comfortable bed with two individually controlled air conditioners. (A tip is to turn off the one over the bed as the air flows over you). The bathroom has a shower and single sink. It is ok but not spacious. But this is a three star hotel so don’t expect too much. Clearly we were in need of sleep but at 7am very loud furniture movement from the floor above woke us up. (The odd motorbike outside the window too.) The noise was coming from the restaurant directly above us and people/staff moving chairs about. Very loud even when using the earplugs from another CGH property at Brunton Boatyard in Kochi Fort. There are no rugs at all just hard floors which amplify the noise. (see photo) Our terrace overlooks the swimming pool but there is building work going on as well which is disappointing. (See photo) Breakfast at Brunton Boathouse was good; here at Pudicherry really poor. A blackboard of what’s on offer but small portions and poor quality. A great fruit choice at Brunton; here very little. If you want anything off piste like passion fruit it needs ordering in advance. The breadbasket consisted of a small slice of something masquerading as apple tart and a really poor croissant (my partner is French and he scored this the worst croissant of any property during our 4 week holiday. This is a bit ironic given this is an old French colony!) (See photo). Breakfast has put us off the restaurant for dinner but there are other places to discover in town. We were recommended to CGH Hotel Group by Abercrombie & Kent. Not one of their better recommendations in my vie and a not auspicious start to our Puducherry visit

Palais de Mahe in the White town is a charming and pleasant place to stay in Pondi. The French type architecture, hospitability and walkable distance to sea adds charm to the stay in this hotel. Food menu can be improved a bit. Palais de Mahe is an pleasant experience of CGH.

Me and my wife stayed here on a tour of southern India. Lovely hotel with very good service. Room was spacious and had the usual amenities and minibar. We dined in the restaurant both nights and found the food really good - being India not a huge wine list but we did find some French that was acceptable and reasonably priced. Breakfast was also good with a choice of Indian and international dishes. Well located a few minutes from the sea. All in all a lovely hotel.
