Mirtehof Guest Farm Estate

Mirtehof is one of the most special small hotels we have stayed in anywhere in the world. The garden is splendid and worthy of a day with a good book under the trees. Breakfast was delightful and several good restaurants are nearby. The rooms are huge and well appointed.

I don’t normally write reviews but the Mirtehof guest house far exceeded our expectations and was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing stays of our two-week trip to South Africa. The room and gardens were lovely and the morning breakfast just so delicious. I don’t’ recall having slept in a bed were the mattress and pillows were so comfortable. The scones and fig jam with the morning breakfast were just to die for so much so that we bought two jars of the same fig jam from Gay’s diary in Prince Albert. A big thank you to our host Tish who made us so welcome and arranged a most enjoyable evening meal at The Prince Albert Café. We would have loved to have stayed longer and will definitely return.

A visit to Mirtehof is what I call a real "spoil". It is a magical place where one can rejuvenate one's soul. In January the gardens are not at their best but this did not detract from our enjoymnt. The staff are welcoming and very professional. The breakfast was exceptional served in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend this fine establishment.

We enjoyed our stay at Mirtehof -beautiful gardens, fruit trees, lots of lovely outdoor areas to relax. Great breakfast too. Two things would have enhanced the experience for us: having someone on hand to help with luggage (instead of having to ask for help), and having someone there in the evenings. After hours it felt lifeless and eerily quiet, in contrast to the somewhat noisy restaurant next door. A friendly person serving sundowners would have been most welcome!

Wow -Excellent will definitely recommend to anyone first class. Very peacefully and friendly atmosphere. Very comfortable beds and accommodation second to none. Our hosts were very helpful and the food was beautiful Phil from Yorkshire - Thankyou we very much enjoyed our stay!!

Five of us stayed in Mirtehof recently. As far as I am concerned, this is the place to stay in Prince Albert. The rooms are spacious and luxurious, the breakfast large and beautifully presented. Of course, as others have commented, the gardens are quite special, with plenty of nooks to relax in and enjoy. The welcome was friendly and hearty, typical of this part of the world.
