Club Med Pragelato Sestriere

We usually love club med. We went on our family snowboarding trip, 12 family members. This club is nothing but disappointment. From location to staff to facilities. Would choose any of the french locations over this one.

We were there for a family skiing trip and stayed in a duplex which was fantastic - a small house with upstairs bedroom and shower room and downstairs separate bedroom, “kitchen” area with fridge and sink and a toilet by the front door. The hotel complex is great with the accommodation spread out in pretty Alpine chalets surrounding a central building containing the reception, bar and restaurant. The hotel had made a huge effort for the New Year celebrations with staff putting on a show they had evidently worked really hard on and then music, dancing and finally outside for the countdown and fireworks at midnight, it was a fantastic atmosphere. Unlike some resorts this is not ski in ski out and in order to ski you have to get a gondola up the mountain that is right next to the hotel. There was a small bit of queuing and very full gondolas at the start and end of the day but it wasn’t at all a big problem and the kids actually loved the “flying bus” rollercoaster ride every day. We used the mini club which absolutely served its purpose - the kids had skiing lessons and made friends but the organisation was significantly lacking. Drop off and pick up were never straightforward - paper lists with different staff every single time so the children were rarely recognised or their names learned - no not that page, turn over etc etc etc It was always unclear where to pick them up from and at what time. The kids had a lovely time but it makes for quite a stressful parent experience and dashing between various sites on the hotel complex. There also needs to be some thought about how the mini club store their skis for individual children, the system is that groups with huge numbers of children all put their skis together and of course things get then get mixed up or lost - in 5 days of skiing our child had to have 3 different pair of skis with return to the ski hire shop for height/weight/ability adjustment each time. Again not a big deal but not really what you want to be doing on a holiday of this sort. The mini club staff are mostly very pleasant but seemed a bit stressed and struggling to cope with the number of children. It seemed unfair to me that the guy who was giving a quite involved evening magic show one night was the same person who was responsible for getting the kids ski returns sorted at the crack of dawn the next morning, of course there were errors and items missing - leadership and senior presence were needed and absent. In terms of dining, we ate fairly early in each main buffet restaurant sitting and found it to be overall really good. The problem is that most people want to eat at exactly the same time and the restaurant quickly becomes overwhelmed. There are two other restaurants offering table service that you can book tables for dinner at but the booking app system doesn’t work at all so they advise to book on site with a woman who sometimes stands outside of the bar with a lap top. It wasn’t at all clear when she would randomly

Quaint mountain village vibe, fun Club Med music and après ski. Great food, nice skiing despite lack of Snow. Love the ski in run at the end of the day. Our level 4 guide Robbie (Roberto) was just perfect and showed us the hest runs and spots. And the added value of included mountains restaurants (3) was a nice bonus. There are several category rooms so choose carefully. But even the smallest rooms are well equipped. Choose C2+ or higher. Just 2h40 from Milan Airport, easy roads. Skiing in France was also fun. Big day !

This was our first club med holiday after being referred by a friend. I was blown away. This was the most enjoyable, hassle free family ski holiday ever. It exceeded expectations. Food was insane - soooooo good. Great variety and always fresh pasta, meats, cheeses. Food is normally what lets a holiday down for me but there was always a drink or food on offer and the quality was exceptional. I have never seen all inclusive food and drink done this well. Kids club drop off was easy and organised. Kids ski school was great. They tried to keep English speakers with other English speakers which i think is a bit comforting for the younger kids. Service throughout the holiday was good/informative. I hope the other club med resorts are as good as this as we are 'sold' and will 100% be booking another club med ski holiday. Thank you!

Club Med Pregelato is fantastic. The village is beautiful and has such character. The food was incredible. Our ski guide, Francesco, was amazing and brought such humour to our days while remaining absolutely professional and looking after our safety as his priority at all times. Being able to eat at mountain restaurants was also a huge win and the food and hospitality again was incredible. Overall an amazing week

World class skiing location. Easy access to the pistes. Good experience if you get the right instructor
