Poteau, Oklahoma Location: My family and I stayed here for one night while driving from Missouri to Dallas. We had two rooms. Upon entering our room, it was pretty obvious the AC was not working properly. We tried to call the front desk, but the phone didn't work. My niece went down to the front desk and told them. They did offer another room, but we were tired and just stayed in the room. The room was fine (except for AC and phone). Our main problem came the next morning. Another one of my nieces went to all four floors trying to find an ice maker that worked. None of them did. She went to the front desk to tell the clerk. For whatever reason the front desk clerk was not going to listen to her and started yelling. My niece tried to tell her about the AC, phone, and ice maker problem. The front clerk told her that we should have told us about these problems, the night before. We did. Then she told my niece that I had checked out at 7:55 AM and given her the key. I hadn't. I didn't even get out of bed till 8:15! I approached the front desk (holding my key), to tell her I had not checked out that early. I was concerned this could have been a security problem. The front desk person would not listen. She just yelled at us. I had never seen anything like it before. Of course, this is a condensed version of what happened, but the reaction of the front desk clerk was unbelievable, and terribly unprofessional. I did not get the name of the clerk, but oh my goodness!!!! I will say the breakfast was good. I really liked the biscuits and gravy. Good biscuits and gravy are not enough to convince me to use this hotel again!
