호텔 코르사로 네로(Hotel Corsaro Nero)

This is a review of the accommodation, not the restaurant. The location is tremendous. There are 5 adjoining rooms, all seaward facing, perched at the edge of the cliff, about 50 foot above a stunning beach, with far ranging views in both directions. There is a private area in front of each room with two sun loungers and two wicker chairs plus a small table. However, the accommodation is tired and in need of refurbishment. The wicker chairs on all 5 bungalows were broken and unusable, and the planters and plants around each were dead and untidy offering little to no privacy. Inside the curtains were dirty and there were many holes and tears in the fabric. There was a constant leak from the toilet cistern into the bowl which meant that the cistern repeatedly refilled throughout the night. We felt that the owners were trading on the location and reputation of the restaurant to charge a high price for the accommodation, although sadly this was not justified by the quality of accommodation provided. In a word: disappointing.

Portu Maga is a bit of an oddity, with half the holiday homes standing empty but the newer half busy and bustling, a very handy store, a pizzeria and a bar. And right on the beach there's the Corsaro Nero, five stone-built rooms with a terrace overlooking the sandy shore, a minute's walk from the water. Simple but comfortable, maybe a little pricy in high season but it's the location you're paying for. The big restaurant, with sweeping views out to sea, serves good food at sensible prices and is full most of the afternoon and evening, easy-going and friendly.

Beach front property, fantastic restaurant, isolated, WiFi can need a bit improvement, good cable tv international programming.

Know this: it’s a travel trek. Several mountain-twisted roads will get there assuming one does not shy from constant S-curves and one-lane roads in 2nd gear. The drive requires one and a half hours from Cagliari airport. It is also possible to take a ferry from the mainline to the northeast port, but a much longer drive awaits. Bonus if driving from the deeper southwest is a wonderfully rutted gravel road that fords two active creeks. Fun. Arrival finds a couple unpretentious buildings - the restaurant/reception area and rooms. Five (5) rooms. Book well ahead. Locals and itinerant travelers populate the restaurant but we never experienced a crowd. Seafood is the specialty with an outdoor grill preparing the catch(es) of the day. Fish, squid, lobster dominate the choices. Although the menu is heavy seafood, we had a very nice beef tenderloin cooked to our satisfaction. Pasta dishes were outstanding. There are several homemade desserts. The restaurant does not disappoint. The beach is the attraction. Walking portion is less than a mile wide and maybe 200 feet deep. The sand is walkable (not foot-scorching). Calm seas allow the water to be pristinely clear and swimmable. There is public access on each side. A shack offers drinks, food and most importantly umbrella/beach chair rental (15 eu/day). Every day was sunny and mild. Five-star staff. Friendly, welcoming and English-proficient. We encountered 2 of them, but they go out of their way to be helpful. We’ll be back.

A great hidden secret. Middle of nowhere. Which is why it is great. Fab accommodation, fab restaurant, on the beach, amazing. Great service.if you want to escape come here. Small lido and bar on beach. Great little beach. Fab sunset. Parking etc.. Thank you.

Posizione eccezionale, ristorante degno di nota con ingredienti freschissimi anche fuori stagione. Le attenzioni di Gigi rendono il tutto perfetto.

Posto incantevole, cibo fresco e buonissimo, alloggi confortevoli e prima colazione ottima. Gigi ci tratta come persone di famiglia. Da che lo conosco è sempre stato una esperienza positiva. Tutto perfetto dal servizio al cibo. Ci torneremo senza dubbio. TOP

Pranzo di Ferragosto prenotato per le 13.45 presa la comsnda dopo 20 minuti gli antipasti arrivati alle 15.20 perché ci Siamo fatti sentire per il ritardo!! (abbiamo visto anche un tavolo lamentarsi e and****ne senza pranzare!! Il nostro pranzo è stato di antipasto di mare (diverso dal solito il tonno in scatola con pomodori penoso!) La zuppa di cozze molte erano vuote! Calamari fritti sottilissimo sembravano cipolle. Infine la bottiglia di Akenta 30€. Poi ti senti dire PURTROPPO È UNA GIORNATA COSÌ!! UN SERVIZIO NON ALL'ALTEZZA DEL RISTORANTE.

Cucina curata, servizio ottimo e veloce, piatti di pesce freschissimo e abbondante. Consiglio il vino Brividi Gold. La location ha una splendida vista sul mare. Veniamo da tre anni in questa parte incantata della Sardegna e passiamo sempre delle belle serate al Corsaro.
