호텔 알카이데(Hotel Alcaide)

We left the Alcaide this morning, after taking a 6 night break to escape the awful British weather. We love this small, boutique hotel and all of the hardworking staff, from the cleaners and the maintenance man, to the kitchen staff and front of house. They work well together as a close team and it works very well indeed. The place is very clean and well maintained. It's low rise, at 3 storeys high, really well located, with restaurants and some shops close by and the beach only a few minutes walk. The breakfast is buffet style, it's very good, with a cold meat and cheese selection, traditional cooked section, local cakes and, of course, lots of lovely fresh fruit and yogurts. The pool and surrounding area, together with the 4 lounge areas and bar with a balcony, are all great places to relax and again, are spotlessly clean. It's very easy to get around and although we hire a car at Faro airport (from the excellent Drive4fun) we love walking into Praia do Roche and Portimao centre, to the East and following the amazing coastal path through beautiful woodland and spectacular viewing areas to nearby Alvor, in the West. This place really is a gem and the price and quality, suits us perfectly. We'll be back for another visit, maybe in the autumn, or next spring when the area is again full of nesting birds and the wild flowers, with lots of Orchids, are at their best. The old salt lagoons, to the West of Alvor, are also a delight for twitchers, with many types of wading birds overwintering there and even a resident, small flock of flamingos, guaranteed to excite and entertain. Perfect! 👌👍😁

Once again a lovely stay at hotel Alcaide. It’s always a pleasure to stay here. The location is perfect and the hotel is run perfectly by its well-team who are always so friendly and helpful. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean and the breakfast is very good and plentiful. The pool is lovely and never very busy out of high season. There are lovely beaches within a short walk and some lovely restaurants too. A big thank you to Bruno, Debra, Pedro and the rest of the staff. You’re a great team!!

Fabulous hotel, room was everything as advertised, comfortable and spacious. The food was great, the staff was very helpful and it was a short walk to our favorite beach in the entire Algarve Region.

Excellent and friendly staff that were very helpful. Beds are firm but all of Europe seems this way. Very convenient walk to the beach and access to a store for drinks and snacks and an ATM. Restaurants walkable as well. Best part was the staff!

Seems recently refurbished and fresh. Pool is a good size with plenty of sun beds in shade or sun. Rooms are a good size with a small balcony. Breakfast was good

With the exception of parking, everything was wonderful. Bruno, the front desk receptionist, was friendly and helpful. He put smiles on our faces!

We had a wonderful time and definitely will come back Rooms were as pictured and breakfast was better than expected, lots of fruits, bread, cheese and more all fresh and delicious! Great location walking distance to the beach and other attractions

We stayed in this hotel for a week in July. Our room was nice, with a large bathroom. I had paid extra for a fridge and a kettle, which we found useful. The pool area was nice, with a mixture of sunbeds around the pool, and sofas under the shade of the building. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. It was about a 7 minute walk to the beach, slightly less to the supermarket. There were two excellent restaurants to the left of the hotel, and some more near to the beach. The local bus stopped outside the hotel. Overall, a good basic hotel, with a beautiful beach nearby.

Very comfortable hotel, clean and the staff always very helpful and professional. I have to mention the breakfast, because it was really good. Perfect for a 3 star hotel, simple but complete, all products very high quality. If you stay at the hotel breakfast must be included, you'll not regret. Praia do Vau only 5 minutes walking.
