YAY: Heated towel racks, lock garage, big king size bed, big king size bathroom, sparkling water NAY: blind on door (upstairs room on entrance) was broken, aircon and TV functions dysfunctional, street noise, towels can be bigger..."king-sized" to match.... Disclaimer: review is over a year late.....as still unpacking memories and reviews....

The neighbourhood doesn’t seem quite appealing, but the accommodation feels very safe! There is a gate and private parking which is a big plus. The rooms were a bit disappointing compared to the pictures, but still nice. There is no generator for the rooms during loadshedding, but there is a chargeable light and warm water. The breakfast was nice and the reception was very nice as well (made it possible for us to check out at 5 in the morning with breakfast on the go as well). Would visit again.

After experiencing fabulous 5 star hotels from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth, to say we were disappointed with Singa Lodge is an understatement. Their web page advertises a restaurant stating “after sundowners, Singa’s gourmet dinner menus can be enjoyed in the private dining room” but when we arrived we were told they didn’t have one, and we would have to go out to eat. As there was to be load shedding from 8.30 to 10.00 pm we decided to go out first and find somewhere to eat and return to get ready for our early start the next morning when we had to leave to return our hire car at the airport. When we were shown to our room we noticed how shabby it was, a big chunk was out of the bottom corner of a concrete wall, and the furniture was very tired. The lighting provided for when the electricity went off was extremely poor, and we retired to bed at 8. All other hotels we had stayed in had generators to compensate. The bed was most uncomfortable. We did complain through our travel agent about the dirty swimming pool, but Singa Lodge management stated it was painted dark as they have a Moroccan/African theme and is not a sparkling blue colour and yet photos on their web site and on Google show a blue pool. I agree with previous comments about the blinds. I definitely would not recommend this hotel and we were sorry we stayed there.

The location is perfect and the reception staff very welcoming. It was great to find out that card are parked off road in a secure garage. The room was spacious and very clean although I’m not a fan of the toilet being in the main room and not enclosed, the bath / shower is okay but I would prefer the toilet being enclosed. We had been hiking the previous couple of days and when we arrived, we were looking for a few hours rest but this was interrupted when a generator was started when load shedding kicked in. I realise a generator may be needed but to have it do close to a guests room is just not right. When asked, the staff turned off the generator straight away but I feel we should not be put in the position of having to ask. Overall though we were pleased with our stay in this very pleasant and clean place.

Lovely stay in this beautiful area of Port Elizabeth. Quiet neighborhood, beautiful rooms, nice pool area and restaurant, close to the beach. Very friendly service. Nice atmosphere! We enjoyed staying close to the water, not far from the Humewood Golf Course. Very safe and private area.

Good, secure location, spacious and clean accommodation, as well as super attentive, friendly and competent staff. All round good value for money. Thank you especially to the staff who made our stay memorable. All requests were attended to promptly, with good, timely feedback - thank you!

Room was ok, aircon didn‘t work, didn‘t get much information from the staff but were friendly, pool wasn‘t very clean and very cold but for our purpose for the one night it was good enough The lodge has lots of potential and it would be a pity not looking after it, anyhow we won‘t be back but that has more to do about PE itself and not necessarily about the lodge.

The facilities were clean and beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back. They made sure that I was aware of all the facilities that were available to me. The grounds were lovely and the room was great. They provided towels, soap, shampoo and per standard and even provided face cloths. I am very satisfied with .y experience

We sincerely had a wonderful time, and that we met and exceeded all expectations. We love the place the stuff and the amazing services and facilities. This is an amazing experience in a nice place and really, really recommended. A warm and recommended place, very pleasant at a very worthwhile cost compared to the others.
